Maybe the problem is not that the Board are business people (which they need to be) but that they are Chooks fans. As silly as this may sound, it is better if the board do not have an emotional investment in an operational outcome.

If supporters like all of us here were on the board, decision making would likely to be as erratic and short term as we keep seeing from this club. Maybe that's the problem.

This is not a personal attack on Mark or any of the other board members and I would tell them this face to face.
I respect them for what they have acheived in their personal lives.

But the track record of the last 5 years is appalling.
The men that are there are probably Easts men but I tell you one thing most of them dont relate to the average punter.
They also dont know what the players want or need.

On the board thing, I get alot of mixed messages. I hear what a good guy Bouris is and some of the others. How they value the juniors etc etc yet they seem to not show it. People say they liked Fisk, but when he went there were alot of cheers.

There board is great and there is nothing wrong with it. I could not think of a better group of directors to be in charge of the financial management of my club.

I know more than a couple of people that deal with this "amazingly great" board and let me tell you, from what you have written you don't even know what they look like let alone have dealt with them.

The board are who cut the Harold Matts and SG Ball, why because they didn't want to honour contracts to players. Now thats simply stunning management

You managed to pick all the faults with people involved with the club, which is an easy thing to do from the outside....But what do you suggest we do to fix the place, as a couchman ?

Of course, the first thing that needs to happen is Politis has to go, and the rest of the board with him. A fresh start is needed, with no-one involved who has links to Politis

The new board must have zero input into the playing roster. Noyce is allowed to do the job a CEO should do - which is to be ultimately responsible for all matters relating to football club operations.

The new board has only 3 primary responsibilities


1) Oversee bottom line financial management

2) Assess the performance of Noyce

3) Assist in areas like attracting corporate support and sponsorship, and lobbying NRL stakeholders with regards to matters that effect the Roosters


Simply, this club will never be great again until Politis is history

And although the fans who post on this forum can disagree on many things, it never ceases to amaze me that more Roosters fan aren't completely over him
