  • Tony Archer and his press statements

Earlier this year Archer made a great public fuss about a marginal pass that led to a roosters try against panthers, how the refs had no excuse for allowing it and then dropped the young ref to reserve grade. I can safely say he would have seen the Tedesco pass last night. The fact that he will be silent on this is both hilarious and says it all about his personal biases.

I suggest sending an email to the NRL about it or to a journo

The NRL would probably disgaree, but any competition that allows for a blatant error like last night is a joke.

there is no excuse for it.

The ref must have seen it .Watching the replay he is no more than 6m away virtually in line with tedesco when he passes the ball, and watching the play.Club should be asking a few questions of archer imo.Why the video is not used in these circumstances is beyond me there should be a challenge rule adopted for next year for instances such as this.

Maybe I'm too bias, but I thought the pass in that penrith game was ok.
Certainly wasn't an obvious example of a forward pass like yesterday

I can tolerate mistakes like the missing of a forward pass or a knock on more than I can decisions like the penalty try last week

The missed cannonball at Matterson's legs last night as right up there with the missed play the ball **** up from Gurgess when he played it sideways.

So obvious. How the **** did they miss it?

No idea. We certainly miss the possession we should be getting from the mistakes the referees make.

The cannonball tackle on Matterson and Kevin Naiqama taking Fergo's legs from underneath him whilst he was in mid-air were both horrendous misses because it's player safety. Everything else aside as an official your primary job is to ensure that the players safety is protected by enforcing the laws of the game.

Kevin Naiqama wasn't even looking at the ball when we took out Fergo's legs mid-air, so lucky he didn't come crashing down on his head. The cannon-ball tackle was just blatant.

I have just as big a problem with the inconsistency of Archer on when he chooses to comment on plays as the blatant forward pass (which was worse than our one against Penrith).

They have to sack that clown.

Apparently, the NRL has adopted Soviet censorship tactics:

"The minefield that will be faced by upstanding journalists working for the NRL's new digital arm was highlighted once more on Saturday night when Wests Tigers' Tui Lolohea scored a try against Sydney Roosters from a clear James Tedesco forward pass.

The NRL's Twitter account, as a rule, posts a gif or video of each try within a minute to two. This video clearly would have gone viral – and not in a good way for League Central. So was it just a co-incidence that only the conversion was posted (conversion gifs usually followed try videos)? Earlier this year NRL.com bowed to pressure to remove a story about Andrew Fifita making comments that had the potential to offend a NSWRL sponsor.

A try is a try, a quote is a quote. We're not talking about tabloid sensationalism. Make no bones about it, this is censorship. There are too many good people in the new NRL digital unit to stand by while it becomes Pravda. It's going to be a fascinating transition."

The NRL Referee's Program is being run like a Circus!!!!!!

With the Clown they have running it looks to me that they are not in touch with the speed of the game today, they cannot manage the players nor get a feel for the game what so ever. I was so surprise that Tony Archer is quick to reply on any incidents that seem to disadvantage us and the Sharks but when we need clarification he is now where to be found unless John Grant puts pressure on him to respond.

Since Grant is going, no doubt that Greenberg's days are number and guaranteed ARCHER WILL FOLLOW SUIT..... Once those 3 are gone, Rugby League will be great again and then you watch and see how differently games are refereed as to me you cannot referee each team differently in the NRL.

The referee shouldn't "have an opinion" if they choose to send a call upstairs.

Call it or send it. It over complicates things.
