  • BJ Leilua IS NOT A WINGER !!!!!! WHEN THE HELL WILL SMITHY WAKE UP??

He may be a decent player & a nice kid BUT he is without a shadow of a doubt the worst winger in the comp !!!

Why the hell we persist with him there is beyond me...

    Exactly.

He is such a good footballer - committed, strong and smart with the ball.

You could see it last night - gets the ball outwide near the touchline on the last, grubbers into the in goal, forces a repeat set.

When Jake Friend inexplicably decided to go short side to Kane Linnett on the last tackle, who obviously had no idea it was the last either, it was left to Leilua to attempt to get some sort of kick away. He was unable to do so under immense pressure, but the ball should never have come to him in the first place, if other players were aware of what was going on.

If you gave him an off season to bulk up, you could take him from a slow winger wiht poor defensive reads, to a fast, skillful backrower who could belt blokes all day.

    WHY, Smithy, WHY!?

Because Smith is an arrogant dick who is he'll bent on proving himself right by transforming him into a winger

The kid has talent and is wasted on the wing

I thought that aside from that grubber that he failed to clean up, he had a pretty strong game.

That try he scored wasn't as easy as it looked.

Bloody dragons have probably already snapped him up - was reading somewhere that he and Jackson Hastings (Horries son) were picked for a junior under 15s Australian side. Both of those would be great to have in the red white and blue. Surely Horrie could influence his son to come and bring his mate.

Anasta isn't a second rower, Mini is past it at fullback, BJ isn't a winger, the list goes on and on tbh.

I have been saying it all year and be laughed at many times. This guy has been costing us tries in both attack and defense ever since he has been on the wing, including several tries in the two finals he played late last year.

I will also say it with Perrett. Whilst he adds value with his dummy half runs and nowhere near as slow as BJ, he costs us tries as well. So many times we have created scoring opportunities and our wingers have lacked the speed to make the opposition pay. Last week BJ got bundled into touch in attempting to score a try because he was a metre too slow, Perrett was a metre too slow in attempting to score a try off a Carney kick through. This week BJ costs us a try being too slow to turn around, the try he scored he also nearly butchered because it took him 5 seconds to run 10 metres.

People make nothing of it but in a close competition an extra metre of pace can be the difference between being a premiership threat and wooden spooners.

In last nights game all tries were leaked down the same side Braith , BJ, Carney and Linnett. Maybe some adjustments need to be made right Here on the left side. If BJ is such a good Second rower why doesn't he take a dominating defensive roll on this edge??

When Graham is fit he should be going in a FB, Mini onto the wing so that BJ can begin learning his proper craft in the backrow.

BJ is not a competent first grader fullstop. Biggest myth since Soliola and Sa. In fact i'd rather have one of those than this slow boofhead.

He cost us the GF (not solely but his defensive misreads turned that game) and hasn't had one better than average game since. The only game he played well in was against the dogs last yr (when he played centre).

A bench backrow spot at best however smith is a clueless twat.
