Checchin deserves a bit of credit me thinks................99 out of 100 times that would have been let go.

      Archer will probably sack him.

Cecchin deserves credit as he was giving the nsw capt his due credit/ respect Plays hard plays fair and with his growing respect in the game may have played apart in Cecchin awarding the penalty. Prefer Boyd as the sole skipper

The last such penalty I can remember was the famous Andrew "Tappy" Gee stuff up for Brisbane at the SFS. The ref was obliged to give the penalty in that case (failure to tap the ball properly at a 20m re-start), but the NRL was so horrified at having to give us a match-winning penalty that they changed the rule the next year.

              Interesting point Paul.

Would the call have gone with us if say, it was JWH who was fouled?

At one stage, after our junior burger team won the comp undefeated, I was thinking Flanagan would end up with the top job.

Thanks Jack - it's certainly a possibility hence my further comment in having Boyd as the stand alone capt with no disrespect to stalwart Friend as we have seen how refs treat him.

Interesting that Luke Lewis in his post game interview said "we gave away a silly penalty at the end". Nice to know there is still some class acts in the Shire.

You said the same thing when Joey Williams brought home a premiership for the Roosters under 21's in 2002 - had the best final series of any player I've seen in any grade that year- you could never have coached him to do that as posters on the wall said back then as well. Sorry ditto for Soward

That was not the case as Wayne Bennett had agreed to coach the Roosters then pulled out when it got into the press that he agreed to coach the Roosters (Bennett's proviso to coach the Roosters was that if it was released to the press he would not coach the Roosters- plus Politis had to sack Stuart without the press knowing - how I don't know) - Had to sign Chris Anderson when Bennett reneged to coach the Roosters and Anderson brought in his own team which meant Flanno was punted - so I do understand Flanno's position as Bennett I understand was willing to keep him on as assistant coach if he coached the Roosters-but Anderson wasn't.

Flanno is a drug cheating merkin, who still cannot admit his guilt in the Sharks disgrace, whiners after every loss, so glad he is in his rightful place in the Shire sess pool
