Just retaliating with my own friendly barbs given this thread is probably aimed at me for having the audacity to suggest that Boyd made the wrong decision to play Game 3.

In the end, he won us that game last night. It was a team effort for 80 mins but Boyd came up with the winning play. He stood up when he had to and the rest is history.
I wouldn't compare the edge backrowers to middles like SST.
But Cordner is aa good as any edge forward I think I've seen besides SBW. I must say that Luke Lewis is up there too along side Fitzgibbon in the NRL era.
Ben Kennedy was brilliant too and equally adept wide or in the middle. Big Beaver fan too.
But yes, SBW is in a class of his own. A genius.

I'd be surprised if he's ever at 100% fitness.
Great respect for Boyd and his effort at the back end of an intense defensive game.

The only higher involvements Frizell has had this year has been in Tackles, Missed tackles, errors & penalties conceded.
You need to watch some more Raiders games. Dragons get way too much FTA coverage, it's the only reason anyone could possibly thin Frizell is the better player.

I care not for stats. I prefer the eye test.
Frizell has the misfortune of being coached by a retarded garden gnome who doesn't play him for the full 80 minutes. That and he's been carrying an injury.
Hence the stats differential.
I do rate Plodpalii; though he's gone off the boil since mind season. I'd just choose the Friz if I could have one of them at the Roosters.

Since when's Josh Papalii been the benchmark? Cords is a much more complete footy player than fatso.Embrace the Hate! JC

Was not fit for SOO 3 and many should have seen this fact- Don't know what will happen next year but a different coach should have ruled him out earlier despite being the Captain- Boyd should still be SOO Captain and if Freddy is the Coach someone like Mitchell Aubusson might get a deserved run in SOO- Be a player I would pick in the 17 for sure.

Fact is Papalii touches the ball more times a game & takes just as many runs even if you want to argue minutes played without factoring in fatigue. He just makes less errors doing it and creates more points.
You can tell me your eyes are telling you something different to the stats but you're only fooling yourself.
Papalii is world class, if he was playing for the Roosters you would be raving on about him. It's amusing the recognition Paul Vaughan is all of a sudden getting moving to a Sydney club with plenty of FTA coverage.

He's something else. Was embarrassing listening to some people on here question his commitment when he was out injured.
Keep on proving 'em wrong Boydy!
Great post R6. Amazing.
Hey fellow Chookpenners, you should watch this video.
Seeing Boyd as the lone chaser like that when the game was over. Brilliant. 79th minute. What a heart. A true rooster.
The team should be made to watch that at least twice.
I never questioned his commitment to the Roosters, just concerned about injuries due to the way he plays. 110% for 80 mins. Truly awesome.Last edited by PeeGee; 08-29-2017, 05:34 AM.Roosters For Ever
