  • Nuuausala facing two-match NRL ban

Sydney Roosters' NRL season of woe refuses to improve with lock Frank-Paul Nuuausala facing a two-game ban for a dangerous throw.

Nuuausala was one of four players charged by the NRL match review committee on Monday, but his grade one offence was the only one to attract a ban even with an early guilty plea.

The Kiwi international upended Wests Tigers prop Bryce Gibbs in the 14th minute of Saturday night's loss to the Tigers at Leichhardt Oval, but it is loading from two non-similar offences in the past two years and 73 carry-over points which have boosted the magnitude of his grade one charge.

Should he unsuccessfully challenge the charge, Nuuausala would be outed for three matches.

Cronulla pair Taulima Tautai and Josh Cordoba will both be free to play Brisbane on Friday night if they plead guilty to a grade one dangerous throw charge following their 72nd-minute tackle on Newcastle backrower Joel Edwards.

The NRL match review committee deemed both players were at fault in placing Edwards in a dangerous position, and they would risk a one-game ban by contesting the charge.

The same applies to teammate Colin Best after the veteran centre was charged with tripping Knights winger Akuila Uate.

I thought that tackle was a good tackle by FPN and didn't warrant citing but then I can't say that I have seen it on replay so I could be wrong.

Considering he has impersonated a first grade footballer for most the season and wasn't suspended, he can consider himself unlucky

I thought it was a suspension when i saw it live. Great tackle for mine, but always warrants a suspension in the eyes of the judiciary. Look at Taylor's copybook driving tackle, which landed him 5 weeks(?).

We will miss him like a hole in the head.

FPN, carney and ana$ta have been the biggest flops this yr.

Unfortunately though Lopini Paea used to go back to Newtown & look like he'd found form again, but did nothing when given a spot in 1sts again... FPN is like Paea, Soliola & Sa... He needs to be moved on..

I think FPN improved abit compared to the start of the year.
Didn't we re-sign him for another 3 years earlier this year? So not point complaining, i guess.

FPN is contesting the charge and off to the judiciary tomorrow night.
