Re Gasnier, what exactly has gone on there. Under the salary cap, he has played a year and a half for officially 450 dollars or so. He is off their books next year. So what are St Merge doing? Giving him a house as a going away present? Seriously?

Pretty obvious now that it was a scam.

He has been in the papers saying that he was always going to retire at that age.

The "back ended contract" merely allowed them to bring him in for a couple of seasons heavily underpaid. The NRL saw the other three years of high payments and let it slip through. Then he retires and they can spend that money on other players - having never had to account for Gasnier on the cap at anywhere near his true value.

If it was us I would say it is very smart.

Being them, and the fact he scored the first "try" in the GF (their only first half one) I am pissed off.

Aiden is the only forward in this squad that knows how to hit a hole, hence he is coring tries that others do not, his work ethic is first rate in both attack and defence, Smith does not give this bloke enough game time, it would be a travesty if he is not re-reigned.

Linnet knows how to finish is a solid defender, always seems to find himself in space, but is playing outside ineffectual halves and Anasta who seem to like to turn the ball inside or cut him out.

Heres an idea Huey, Duey and Louie, run the ball on the 6th for a change, instead of a nuff nuff kick, wacth this bloke create opptunities with his speed.

I agree why was he hooked this week straight after the try, maybe that is why they have not been scoring this year.
