The Sydney Roosters confirmed the signing of 18 year old boom halfback Mitchell Pearce for a further 3 years which will make him a Rooster until the completion of the 2010 season.
Mitchell Pearce was captain and voted player of the Australian Schoolboys successful tour of the UK over the Christmas period.
The signing of Pearce is a continuation of the Club’s youth policy having recently re-signed utility backs Mitchell Aubusson and Shaun Kenny-Dowall.
Pearce has only played 3 first grade games but is one of the young players the Club has procured for the future, having turned 18 only last Saturday.

It's only really been the last couple of years that we've kept our powder dry and looked after our youngsters.

I also believe that it has been in place since 09.
I like the stance the club is taking.
At the end of the day it's been a couple of off field incidents and some close losses that have farked our season. Plus we've had a massive injury toll, possibly the worst in the NRL.
Considering we hardly had an injury all last season and with the bulk of this squad coming off a wooden spoon year in 09, it was always going to be tough to emulate 2010 if we got plenty of injuries.
I believe players like SKD, Friend, JWH, Guerra, Kennedy, Arona, Leilua, Tasi and Takairangi will be even better players in 2012.
If we finish 15th so be it. Wipe the slate clean and try again in 2012.
The only problem we have is Anasta and Minichiello. Unfortunately they are massive problems.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

What part of this don't you understand..
When we are talking about young policy we are talking about the core of the squad. This yr we had Ryles, Riddell, Minichiello, graham etc yet we are the youngest team in the comp. As per my previous post, it started in 2006....

We would have struggled in 2010 with a few more injuries. It's simple, there is no experienced depth at this club.

Wont be Sam Tomkins, too good to be true. I've been calling for him for a couple of years now but I reckon pwn is just winding you all up.
As for the youth policy, I support it 100%. Sticking by it when we've got the resources and the money to do what the Titans & Dogs have done is the harder decision, especially when coming off a season like this. Still, Myles needed to stay... Tomkins would go a little way to repairing that woeful decision by the club. We can dream.

Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.

We could sign Fitzgibbon next year and still have a youth policy if 75% of the squad are young.
Every team has injuries, go easy on the excuses pal.
