The ability to win dirty

This season we have won more games when we haven't had a majority of possession, than when we have. I wonder if there has ever been a team that finished second at the end of the regular season who has done that.

If NRL Stats are to be believed, 8 times we have won with a majority of the pill, 7 times with a minority and 2 times with possession being equal. (8 being less than 7+2).

If it's not a meaningless stat, it says something about our ability to win dirty.

To complete the picture, 9 times we have won possession percentage for 8 wins. 13 times we have lost possession for 7 wins. We have won both games where possession was equal.

We have been almost unbeatable when we have won possession, losing only 1 game (by 1 point; 51% possession).

We are the one and only team the storm do not want to play after our last encounter where they had to rely totally in the refs to give them 10 of their points. Without the wrongly awarded penalty try we would have won.

Coming home in the car, the MMM guys said that it is amazing how we are second on the table, but have the highest error count of all the teams.
...how good would we be if we could cut out or at least minimise all the errors ?
