We almost lost to Manly in the GF (but for some freakish plays) and we uuum... didn't have to play Souths due to a lucky Manly win. In 2013, Souths were the team to beat IMO. Manly spoiled that for them.
I have to strongly disagree with you there ism. We were clearly the best team in 2013. We dominated. It's the most enjoyable year of football I've ever experienced as a Roosters supporter. I went into every game confident we would win as our defence and desire was amazing.

Manly flogged Souffs in the Prelim. Manly were a far more dangerous team with that great spine.

In no way shape or form were Souffs the team to beat that year.

      We had the most wins.
      Scored the most points.
      Conceded the fewest points.
Had the best points differential in about 15 years.
Set an ALL TIME record for clean sheets.
And had the most star studded roster.

Cmon Ism, you're way off on this one.

Much as I hate the Storm, and I truly, truly, loathe them, I don't see 2 losses in them this finals series. Based on that I hope they beat Parra, and then go out after a rest in 2 weeks.

Too much wishful thinking and sentiment here.

No way Storm will lose tomorrow night. They play particularly well in 'milestone' games.

Given that Cameron Smith is breaking the record for the most NRL games playes and that they are at home.

Added to this is Bellamy n Arthur have had a war of words so the Storm will be taking this game extremely seriously.

Plus the fact that Mitchell Moses suggested he and Parra can smell a.grand final and premiership I think the Melbourne Storm will blow them off the Park. Storm by 16.

Melbourne have gifted and hard working players in key positions. Players around the core play to almost their maximum potential every time they play. It is this and only this that makes them so successful.

Other clubs have higher potential, the Roosters, Broncos, and Cowboys (if fit) all fit into this category. We do not often play at our full potential as a group though.

Finals games are the exception, as a general rule, all players for any team play pretty close to potential. IMO that's why Melbourne do get knocked off reasonably consistently in big games.

Mark my words, if they face us in the GF they will be in a fight.

                Well well well...

Half time and it's 10-4 to the Eels.

                The Storm are choking hard.

Will our reward for last night be a prelim vs the Storm?

                I hope not.

                  Chinks in the Melbourne armour!
Apparently there are other teams in this comp!

I'm loving the way the ref's have so far managed the finals games.. Sure a few mistakes but I can live with that when they've stopped the stupid nitpicking penalties. It's bought the Storm back to the field somewhat

Smith reminded ref at ht to read the script. Normal Service to be resumed shortly

I saw that but loved the way Timmy Mannah stayed around to have a say straight after Smiff. It was like he was reminding the refs that there are two teams out there.

If Melbourne score next I think they will win.

I think the opposite might bring them undone -- too little competition, recently. They had the 64-6 win over Souths, and then another thrashing last week. Not good prep heading into a finals campaign.
