I will be on my own here but I was good with Fergos play.
It took skill and effort and what id want to see from my players. 9 times out of ten one of our guys gets there first. 40/20s are lethal...bronx big chance to score anyway.
I see what you're saying. It was amazing that he got there and not entirely his fault that nobody was there to back him up.
What also impressed me was that he made the decision, comitted to it and followed through. He might have 'lost' that contest, but I see what you're saying. It wasn't a 'stupid' move per se. I suspect that he mighta landed awkwardly or something too? He had a lot of time and I was expecting him to get back onto the field in time (Oates took a while to catch up).
He phucked it up big time boys - really really dumb play. I'm not having a go at the guy so much in saying that - he has been really strong of late - but he phucked that up big time no matter how well he executed that phuck up it was a phuck up. Part of football is peripheral vision and awareness and he had none on that play
I'm a big fan of Fergos, I think that not having SKD inside him means he doesn't get as much good ball as he used to. I think the 40/20 was just a good kick.
As for training, I wouldn't do much at all. We've had an entire season to iron out any creases. I'd focus on making sure the team is focused, pumped and I'd get out of their way and let them do their job.

Id go back to the 10k-15k road runs in KT26 & fleecy tracky dacks, sand hill runs, push ups, sit ups, ball work (3 forwards take it up & then 2 tackles out the backs) steel studs & cut up oranges.
