Firstly, Yvonne has outstanding melons.
Secondly, Robbo talked about the necessity of players buying into the Roosters style of play. He stated that the great Roosters teams of Gibson, Gus and Stuart had an identity - they were tough. And it's no coincidence that our leaders - Boyd, Jake, JWH, Pearce and Guerra play tough.
He mentioned that because of the Bondi lifestyle it's easy to fall into soft habits. And players that are soft will get found out at the club.
More to come.

The influence of Nick Politis was discussed. Robbo mentioned that he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Nick and it's a measure of the man that he was willing to take a punt on Robbo who was coaching Catalans at the time.
He said he talks to Uncle Nick every day. And they'll often talk about player recruitment, e.g. Nick will mention a player and Robbo will think that that'll never happen, and then it does... i.e. SBW who wouldn't have been here if it wasn't for Nick and what a great surprise it was when he was recruited. I also suspect it might have been a reference to Teddy as well.
Robbo clearly has a lot of love for Nick. He mentioned that he's been in the game since the 70s (as we know) and no one is more passionate about the Roosters. He also appreciates that he's a strong leader, which he believes is crucial to running a successful club; but also that he's not a dictator.Last edited by Tommy Smith; 09-20-2017, 09:11 PM.

Luke Keary was then discussed.
With a wry smile Robbo called him "a different cat" lol Clearly said with love because he reckons Keary's personality has added a lot to the dressing room.
Robbo spoke about how our halves play both sides of the field and how important that is.
He called Paul Green a class man and a really good coach. No surprises there. He didn't really know him at the time he was hired as an assistant but he made an immediate impression.
Robbo was then asked about Matt Scott and basically doesn't give a ****. It doesn't change our preparation. He either plays or they're playing mind games in which case its wasted energy on their behalf (or something to that tune).
And that's about all I can remember. Love that man! What a contrast to mugs like Barrett and Flanno.
Trust in Trent!
Oh and they also got him to speak French lol and he has another kid on the way. Congrats Robbo. What a dreamboat of a man xxxLast edited by Tommy Smith; 09-20-2017, 09:12 PM.

I hope the Roosters send a serious message to whoever wins on friday night. I would be happy to win by one pt but if we dip out of this match at all all that above talk means nothing.
Robbo is my favourite Roosters coach of all time (only been following since 2000) so I'll still bleed RWB.
Time to make a statement chooks and I'm sure Robbo wants nothing less.
Go Easts.

Joining the League Life girls on Wednesday night, Robinson gave the kind of fascinating insight that has him regarded as one of the game’s most interesting thinkers.
His take on the dynamic a coach creates between his staff and his players makes the above trip sound like one nightmarish family holiday.
“The way I see the role of an assistant coach is a big brother,” Robinson said.
“The role of a head coach is to be a father.
“Now that means there’s certain rules around being fathers, there’s certain things the players don’t want to see from their fathers.
“You’ve got to show them your heart, so we have be close. There’s got to be a bond there but the rules have to be set.
“(As an assistant) that big brother, they want to enjoy some time with you, they want to have some fun. But they want to respect their big brother, and that’s the role there.”

Robinson admits “there is a bit of softness” to the latte-fuelled high life of Sydney’s Eastern suburbs.
Rugby league’s hardest men “can get soft, if you want to in our area”.
Which may have had something to do with he and his staff completing every single gut-busting, gruelling activity the Kiwi commandos asked of his players.
“I don’t know if they knew what they were getting themselves in for,” Guerra laughs.
“We were two months into pre-season training. We’re pretty much at peak fitness and we’re struggling.
“So yeah, it was ballsy from the coaching staff. But it just added to the respect that we had for them.”
Guerra jokes that he doesn’t want to go back there, and you can’t make him.
Isaac Liu describes the Mule NZ run camp as the best he’s ever been involved in, because the coaches matched the players’ monumental effort.
“It certainly brought the team together. You saw how the hard work paid off.

“For us as players, it was testing times, let alone staff who sit at a desk for their job.
