We're spoilt. Try being a tigers fan. Or parra. Or just about every other side. Next year was the one we targeted for a premiership even before Teddy. This one is a massive bonus. Embrace it.

A good team may have put Melbourne away by half time.

      They were woeful.

Luckily for them the Broncos were woeful also.

      The Storm are very beatable.

Any comparisons to great teams of other eras are off the mark in my opinion.

And, the Broncos and Raiders teams were definitely over the cap!

Phuck it's been a long week for you roosterchook. Not long now almost there. But if we happen to win this one tonight do us all a favour and slit your wrists asap after the full time siren - I don't think you or any of the rest of us could handle another week of your negativity.

The Storm seemed to get a lot of penalties and favourable decisions in the game.

            Very true.

I also find it very hard to believe a team with the playing style of Melbourne only give away two penalties all game.

It's a great opportunity for our blokes to make a statement tonight,

our best lineup since round 12 & we get ONE game to either die or prepare for the GF

I thought the refereeing was outstanding.

Why oh why do we have to wait for SOO or late finals for the refs to stay out and let the game flow??

Darkie, I for one know that we have what it takes to stretch the Storm if we apply ourselves to the game plan in the GF, but I am realistic enough to know that Cows have what it takes to stretch us tonite with their style but are no chance against the Storm.

Roosters need to give it all tonite for the full 80 minutes

The are 2 statements they need to make. One is not to blow certain tries like they have all year and two not to fall asleep once we get on top of them, which usually happens when we do something stupid like kicking out and giving the opposition a 7 tackle set. Credit to Pearce for admitting those things are what allows team to get back in the game which goes to show that many who bagged him weren't far off. I'm going to be hoping he has a blinder MOM game tonight.

They were well over, legally or illegally thats up for debate. So was the rapid increase in size of several of those players, same goes for those great Raiders sides.
Those Brisbane sides where filthy dirty cheats, but back then it was conveniently ignored.
You are probably right billy. Since the game has become a business the NRL has always allowed the filthy dirty cheats to get away with murder - probably in order to ensure success in areas where they need the game to have a stronghold.... Bris PTY LTD then. Melbourne now.

Actually i should have said "Best Team ever in the NRL era (i.e. Since 1998)". My bad..

It's totally unfair to compare this era where the game is fully pro to the game in the 70's when it was semi-pro. There were players who were full time garbo's, part time footballers back then.

Problem is we are talking about a team from a semi-pro era whereas every team now is fully professional. With the strength, conditioning and general speed of the game the 75 team would be blow off the park even with our current team. Todays game is fully analysed, players do things now that were not ever thought of about back then....i.e banana kicks, spin on the ball etc.

Even with the video ref etc, would that beetson bounce the ball try in the 75 GF been awarded? That said we would probably have won the 72 GF with a video ref..

When I say greatest ever I'm accounting for all of those factors.

A bit like saying someone is the best pound for pound boxer of all time.

If the 75 team were in todays era with all the elite modern day methods then they'd be fantastic I'm sure.

Fair enough call. But things who be totally different too, would Beetson be allowed to eat a thousand Pies?
