No team can win the comp year after year. Winning the comp once every 5 years or so is what I consider a successful club.

    Go the Roosters.
I'm sure 13 other coaches would like to have our roster.

I like Robbo but he failed under adversity in 2016 and made terrible decisions at a crucial time this year.

It was a very poor standard of competition outside of the Storm. A place in the GF was there for the taking but we blew it.

He was a major contributor due to some poor selections.

Like others have rightly pointed out, 2018 is make or break for him.

The only way I could lose faith is if Keary doesn't start the year at 5/8. That would be utter madness and if it causes us to lose him as he's off contract next year then it'd be a huge mistake.

        But.. it surely won't happen.
Uncle Nick wants another premiership - he cannot go on forever - 75 now so time is running out as he is wanting to step aside since his main business interests take him overseas more and more - I heard another premiership may be his swansong at the club.

You can also add the decision to let Maloney go and keep Hastings to the Toupo of the bench disaster. I'm sure Flanagan, Buzz and the shire think highly of Robinson.

Well considering we are short on props, perhaps Politis might like to pull on the boots and dictate play on the field - that way he might actually have control over performances. No matter how rich and powerful he is, at the end of the day, unless he contributes on the field he is like the rest of us, sitting in the stands knowing we cannot change what is happening out there.

I still cant fathom out his team selections in the finals it was too stupid for words to be honest.Years ago before the coaches took overall control of team selections every club had its own selectors, usually former players who met with the coach and discussed the team makeup, worked well then. Many other sports do it still today might be worth going back to that as it adds a bit of a check and balance to coaches also players have to impress the selectors to keep getting a run in firsts so they go a bit harder

Shame when he does, his money is the only thing keeping us in Sydney, it will be relocate or fold when he leaves.

Everyone is an expert, whinge whinge whinge.

The cowboys game was, as darkone said, our worst performance of the season. It was terrible. It looked like the team just didn't turn up because they had assumed it was in the bag, probably the same reason why Cronulla and parra lost to the cowboys in the previous weeks. Not acceptable for professional athletes.

But some people are never satisfied. Some people just like to whinge whinge whinge. Many are forgetting that we were 15 minutes away from a gf appearance when most of us at the beginning of the season were wondering if we were a fringe 8 team this year. I am not excusing the loss to the cowboys, it was shocking, but we are in a very solid position to mount a better challenge for the title next year.

Don't think so as the Easts group is more than financially stable/affluent to cope with running all clubs and the footy team when Uncle Nick steps aside - The only question will be who takes over from Uncle Nick as Chairperson.

Yes I acknowledge that but just saying that we could have reached more GF’s if we had a better completion rate.

No you have me confused with Bullwinkle the Moose- I heard that Luke Ricketson is being mentored to take over from Uncle Nick

                          • Of course we’ve done very well but I think what some are complaining about is that we are poorly coached in some aspects. A well drilled and well trained side doesn’t come top of the list for errors and rule breaches year after year. It’s just my opinion but I believe a number of other coaches would have got us to 2-3 Grand finals with the roster we’ve had over the years.

i don’t believe Robbo has any excuse for the repeated errors of this team, even with different rosters over the years. How can different rosters all be playing like SKD? It’s to do with the gameplan and the way we’re coached to take way too many risks which in the end kills us in final footy.

One things for sure and certain- Robbo is a hopeless final footy coach. His bench selection shows he just had no idea what he was doing. Maybe the ocassion got to him but the bench was the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in a final game. He must take responsibility for the bench as he selects it.

Tonight's performance was insipid to say the least with the same mistakes made by the same players which surely the coach needed to address during season and other seasons but hasn't - As an example -Surely after scoring a try the focus should be on finishing your next set of six tackles - but not so- not coached into them to do this obviously- did this 2 or 3 times tonight I recall

The Roosters only through individual players play have managed to win 9 or so close games during the year and not through superior coaching either one has to say - the teams attack is very predictable and to win those games it took something outside the norm to achieve the win or ability to win - i.e Mitchells try vs Broncos and Gordon's conversion for an example.

Team selections and player usage have been baffling all year to say the least and not unlike tonight when Toops was selected in the 17 when clearly not fit to play as well as a clearly unwell Keary selected to play as 5/8. Why would a coach select players who were unfit to play - Watson should have started at 5/8- Evans on the bench in place of Toops and another forwarded added to the 17. Watson has been underutilised all year by the coach which ended up with Watson signing with another club - Manu was dropped during the late rounds of the season but returned to the NRL in round 26- not selected again for NRL - Instead Coach Robbo continued selecting Aubusson and Matterson in the centre's who maybe be good defence players but certainly not good in attack- thus limiting the teams scoring opportunities.

Robbo has been coaching for 5 years - achieving 3 minor premierships/ 4 finals appearances (including 4 prelim finals with only 1 win and 3 losses) and a non finals appearance in 2016 with only 1 premiership to count for having the best squad for 3 years (2013-2015) and second best squad (2017).

Some may say Tedesco will be the magician to win the next premiership but I really doubt it - Roosters have lost or are losing SKD/Guerra/Watson/Evans and have only signed Tedesco for an example thus weakening the NRL Squad - A number of players are also at or are coming up to their use by dates including Gordon/ Friend/ JWH/ Pearce and some others whom I don't expect can go to another level in the NRL based on their currently ability - Aubusson / Lui//Toops/Ferguson/ T/ etc.

For the Roosters to improve and be a GF chance they need a review of the coaches and current squad to ascertain if changes are required to the coaching staff and player roster and the way the team plays- As I said previously winning all those close matches doesn't mean the team is playing well- a deal of luck was involved - lose those close matches instead and finish 15th like 2016.

Robbo will need to win a premiership in 2018 to remain as coach beyond 2018 - he also needs to refresh the squad and make some hard decisions on player retention for 2018- obviously the squad has not been good enough to win a comp since 2013 and it may be a while before another premiership win if changes are not made including in the coaching ranks. A major review is required as the Roosters cannot afford to drop out of being a genuine GF Contender since membership number and home game crowds are dwindling- Sure people will say the Roosters had the 4th highest crowd averages but this is rather inflated considering the crowd attendances at the Anzac Day games ( 40k plus)/ Adelaide (23 k plus) Central Coast (20k plus).

                              Over to you Uncle Nick

And we won the comp 12 months later and 12 months after that.
