I think we'll just continue as is and keep the coach who has turned us into a regular top 4 side thanks.
Making top 4 nearly every year is huge. Finals are a lottery, you can't win the lottery every year. Bellamy doesn't neither does Bennett.
Most clubs can only dream of regular top 4 finishes.
Within the salary cap you need lotsa things to fall into place if you wanna win a premiership. With SKD sacked and Toops injured, we unfortunately had to deal with ad-hoc outside backs.
IMO coming 2nd and making a preliminary final was a massive over-achievement with the squad we had. It gives us a good position to build on for the future. Unfortunately right now QLD aren’t just dominant, all their players will be getting staggered farewells/milestones over the next few years. We don’t have any QLD legends so we’re gonna have to be spoilers if we wanna win anything.

Oh well, thanks, that explains it. Johns is probably toast then too. You know if he's got some spare time after this, there's a State of Origin gig currently vacant that would be perfectly suitable providing it wasn't a conflict of interest.

I still think Frank Curry is the answer.

Now all we need is some of those brown paper bags ...Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Uncle Nick and Board expected at least a GF appearance after finishing second this year (2017) like in 2014 an 2015 when we finished minor premiers - 3 Prelim final defeats is unacceptable - Robbo has to take some blame for this - can we at least find out why he would select Toops when not fit- People say oh Tedesco will be the answer- remember he played for a team that did not make the 8 all the years he played for them and came second last this year - Mini voiced his view that Latrell was the answer to the fullback role but changed tack when the Roosters board earmarked Tedesco as a priority signing and he was enlisted to make his signing a priority due to his connections of playing with him for Italy and their resultant friendship from this period.- Latrell Mitchell was viewed by the Roosters and Mini as the long term replacement for departing fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
Yes Tedesco is a good NRL player but NSW were not overwhelmed with FB candidates for NSW SOO one has to say - he will need to fit in to a relatively successful side which is sometimes harder than it seems when you come from a side that has not experienced finals footy and the expectations of success that the Roosters have especially from the board led by Uncle Nick. Look at Craig Wing a standout for bottom ladder team Souffs - really struggled when he came to us in 2000 to fit in and ended up having to change his position to being a bench player and utility - playing mostly hooker I recall instead of his preferred 5/8 position.

My my fear is that Trent might become like Brian Smith, too technical in trying to manage an outcome, and not about how to win a game.
And Craig Wing is a perfect example, we won the comp in 2002 with him at half and the following years, shift him to hooker and win two minor premierships yet no Cups..
So what we now?? like NSW no with 4 fullbacks, 4 halves, 3 locks,
i just hope Trent can identify our/his weaknesses and correct them and we are premiers in 2018. Being an ex-prop he should be able to get more out of our props, especially in the big games...it’ll be interesting to see
