JWH and guerra would add some much needed size and go forward in the backrow... we all know how good aubs and guerra can attack
    all 3 good defenders
That would be my backrow with Cordner on the bench with Bosden. This would give a good balance of skill, size and workrate

Unfortunately FPN and Anasta are more than likely to fill a couple of this spots.

My IDEAL forward pack next year would be
      8. Kennedy
      9. Friend
      10. Ryles
      11. Aubo
      12. Guerra
      13. JWH
      14. Mitchell
      15. Tasi
      16. Masoe
      17. Cordner
then 2013 Tasi/Masoe starts for Ryles and Bosden comes onto the bench. This won't happen under Smith though

I am wondering if the club is maybe hanging off with re-signing him to make sure is is really over the problems he had in the off season.
It wasn't injury remember it was an illness.

Kingbilly what illness are you talking about ? this year 1 opp was for eye which was popped out by an opposition finger. 2. was a shoulder recon.which was why he was playing one week resting 1 week and 3. was opp for compartment syndrome which is to the calves one of these got infected by sweating in the Gym.
          Never heard of an illness.

That won't go close to keeping him nowadays

Guerra is our best forward, and must be retained
            LOL.

You sound like one of the idiots who said Stig was the next Fittler after he beat a tiring forward with a left foot step.

Guerra has had a few good games on the trot. Symonds looked like a world beater against Souffs too.

He is talented, yes. He should be re-signed, no doubt. But our best forward? Over, say, Martin Kennedy?

All it would take is for Guerra to have one shit game and this whole place would be tearing him to shreds.

BF if he has a bad game and it will come, he will cop a bagging, but at the moment he is a stand out, playing in the position where he should've been playing earlier, playing the game we expect them all to play, so till he slips up he should get the credit he has earnt and deserves. What confuses me is that the club can not see what the fans are seeing.

Yes, but we're calling him our best forward, saying we should throw the checkbook at him...

But all that will change if he drops a pass next week with the line open.

There is an assumption that re-signings are somehow completed entirely by the club - as though they just tell a player "Righto mate, you've got three more years."

Yeah, if they can't tell that Guerra should be re-signed, they're even dumber than I thought. But I doubt they're sitting there without a clue in the world that he can play. I also doubt they're thinking of throwing the checkbook at him after 2 or 3 good games.

I can't remember what it was called, but the reason Aiden G was out was due to an illness that caused immense pain when exercising. Now that may have been the compartment syndrome that you mentioned, but I was under the impression that was the major reason he hadn't played earlier in the year. Thats what he said around Easter at a Roosters development match

I used that excuse every Wednesday at school for P.E.

                        He had shin splints.

We havent got the space in the cap to keep him. Simple as that. We didnt let Myles go because he wasn't putting in, or even because he didn't want to stay (which he did), we let him go because we couldn't afford to keep him. Guerra is as good as gone imo and I unlike the majority of you, I will miss him, but I do not think the result is going to be as catastrophic as you make it out to be. We have the quality back rowers we need.

BF I have never said he is our best forward but he is a proven First Grade forward who puts in each week , does his assigned job each week, to date has not let the Club or the Fans down in what has been a miserable year and deserves to be re - signed, if the Club wants more than that then there should be alot of players looking for a new vocations in this current roster.
As for throwing the cheque book after 2 or 3 good games, If my memory serves me correctly he has played more than that this year and last and is yet to put in a bad one.

I think he should be re-signed too.

I just think it's worth remembering that you go from hero to zero in under 10 seconds around here.

Not too long ago, Guerra re-signing would hardly have been an issue, let alone a top priority.

BF, I think we are loosing sight of the big picture, if you play well for a club then generally there should be some incentive to show faith and even acknowledge the effort by the Club - Loyalty is a 2 way street.
Otherwise what incentive is there to play well once a contract is signed if not recognition, that you may be an asset to the Club in the future. No wonder club loyalty is a thing of the past.
We watch these players develop, then they are turned away to join the opposition, invariably come back to bite us, when next we meet, the fans loyalty becomes divided because we are familiar with the players plight.
