We had no ball in the first 30 mins so they were limited in the impact they could have. Most of the time we seemed to be defending our line. Both players are then replaced and we get a run of possession. I was hoping for a bit more from each of them in the 2nd half but it was one of those games where the non-contributors out weighed the contributors. by a long way no doubt. The scary thing is we still could have won the game and had only played to about 60% of our ability
It was an idiotic conservative tactic to try and go set for set with them. It played right into their hands.
Still so pissed off about that loss.

Latrell had a shocker. Not only did the kicks out on the full swing the momentum back their way and lead to tries but he also passed once straight over the sideline gifting them yet another six and his tackle on Kyle Feldt was a 'he who hesitates is lost' lesson. He had to wrap up the ball there. Then there was the interference run that cost us a try. I'm a big Latrell fan but he ran so cold in that game that he may as well have been playing for the Cowboys. It was a Steve mavin performance. .
Ferguson's first coughing up possession probably should have been a penalty to us. He was definitely one of our best on the night. Stifled some dangerous attack and ran it back powerfully and busted them on a couple of occasions. But the second drop was crucial.
Aubusson was not 100% looked like he was carrying a knee or leg injury. And Pearce's hanging out an arm and taking Martin's dummy was crucial for their confidence and that early lead. JWH putting his leg out to a ball that would have gone over the dead ball line gave them another six as did Pearce's touch an another that looked bound to go out and did. But they got yet another six.
If Friend ran once then I missed it. The ruck was so predictable that it made so easy for the Cowboys defence. Just one or two dummy half runs would have drawn it in tighter...but no...
All in all one of the dumbest team efforts and yet we were still in the game with a quarter of an hour to go. And Tupou's decision to get up and run again right under the posts when we were down and time was of the essence. It summed up the night.

It also shows that the Cows shouldn't have come anywhere near us.
I'm not saying you are wrong about our props as you summed it up well. But the opportunity was there for one or both of them to stand up. Napa in particular was really poor. Where was the big hit to put Taumalolo on his backside, or at least give him something to think about.
I'm not one to go straight at the No7. I remember a few yrs ago the Storm forwards had a shocker and we belted them. At Allianz. Their halves had no chance.
Football is not rocket science. The team that runs harder and tackles harder generally wins. Coz they create space for their halves.Embrace the Hate! JC

He dropped the ball twice in tackles at the beginning of our sets inside our 20 metre line. Inexcusable. I don't care that he runs the ball back hard, so do most of the wingers in the comp without the repeated dumb errors and then he comes up with the dumbest look on his face trying to blame the tackler for his pathetic errors. I wish I got paid $500k a year to drop the ball inside our 20 twice at the beginning of our sets in the most important game of our year.

The whole thing was a shambles and a disgrace.

One major blunder that has been almost unnoticed in the Cows game was the cross-kick he dropped at the start of the game. It came straight to him and was a legitimate scoring chance. And he dropped it cold.
He had been great in the period between Origin and the Finals.
