I think most are missing the big picture.

Whenever our forwards demolish their opposition, go forward with quick play the balls, Pearce and Keary have a field day. Like most halves.

With the addition of Teddy, all we need do is strengthen our front row. That's who let us down.

I've never gotten the Pearce hate. He is no superstar. He is conservative in his play. He is steady. Defensively sound. He is a good first grader and a good enough halfback to win a Premiership for us, as long as we have a consistently dominant pack.
He proved it 4 years ago.

No point destroying morale for a guy who could only be here for a year.

No body hates Pearce and if anyone does then they have personal issues. This hate thing you mention is only a label placed by those that continuously back Pearce to those that have anything negative to say about him, especially when we have lost a game we should have won. Many here like myself have come to the conclusion that it's going to be a cold day in hell if we ever win another premiership with Pearce at half. But like the Eagles toured after they said the same, who knows, but Pearce is no Don Henley.

And why would it destroy morale anymore than SKD, Guerra or Watson going? Players are conscious that they either perform or they're out. I'd say with the prospect of having a better conductor, you'd get them performing better. Winning makes everyone happy.

Not conventional, but I believe Pearce call be a very good ball playing 13 if he is as open to the move.

He is of decent size, not afraid to hit the line and is one of the best support players in the game. Not to mention he is one of if not the best defensive half in the game.

If he was open to it, he definitely wouldn’t be a liability playing there.

The club is better off asking his old man to play lock than JuJu Pearce

1. A solid prop who would avg 100+ metres a game
2. A good defence centre

It's quite ironic that with all the current 'Pearce to hooker' talk, and the Cronk circus atm. About 4 yrs ago, I think Johnny(PIM) and myself mentioned Pearce to hooker at the time and got blasted for it. I'd say PIM would remember.

If Cronk does arrive at Bondi, maybe he can bring a young cheapie storm prop with him??

I don't understand why so many of you think it's a given that if he's coming here then it's only for 1 year. I'd say 2 years is more likely than 1 year and that would be perfect for us if Lammie's son and O'Sullivan's son are as good young prospects as many experts believe.

If Politis manages to sign Cronk while simultaneously foisting Pearce on Souths, he'll need to employ a 24/7 security force to protect him from me trying to make out with him.

Cronk on a 1-2 year deal then slotting into the coaching staff would be our greatest purchase since Freddy.

Things definitely need freshening up!
Teddy (a roosters fan) Mitchell (second full season) Keary and Cronk (if it happens) would help keep everyone on their toes and hopefully ensure the old guard don't rest on their laurels. Just sticking to the same old for next season and something tells me we could be in for a major disappointment.

Pearce to Souths... that would be a little painful. I personally love Pearce, I think the defensive side of his game is the best of all the halves and you can never call into question his heart, I think he goes out there and gives his all for the Roosters week in and week out.

I do believe that he is just not a great player, he is a toiler, in the vain of Aubo. He does everything he can do, he gives 100% but his 100% is someone else 70%. Cooper, I can't remember a time I have seen him shine without the likes of Slater, Smith or JT by his side. You know, like JT for the Cowboys. He has always been such a dominant and controlling half, but I can't remember Cronk without Smithy controlling the ruck or Slater up on the inside.

In either case, honestly - I wouldn't be against this move. If Cooper signs on for 2/3 years and we move on Pearce... I think it would be really hard, but I think it would be a positive move by the club. Alternatively, move on Jake and put Pearce in the 9.... it's been spoken about ALOT... but I really wonder A) if it would work and B) how Pearce would take not being the number 7.

Pearce's attempted tackle for their first try should have seen him sacked by the club immediately.

You can't have a halback who is a toiler. It's time for him to go.

Pearce's "defence" for the first Cows try should have seen him frogmarched out of the stadium and sacked from the club.

You can't have a halfback who is a toiler.

He can't win big games whether it's origin or finals.
