I am hearing that the Roosters have 800k to spend still under the cap - don't know how true this is -If Cronk is signed does any player need to leave in that case??? - And if so which player(s)?? I am hearing that Cronk may play 5/8 and Pearce at half with Keary filling the utility role off the bench held this year by Watson(although Cronk's best position is half but he can play 5/8) - On a Parra fan site they are saying Napa maybe released to play for Parramatta as a result of a Cronk signing? -Even if they could sign Cronk the NRL would expect the Roosters to release a player or two as the other 15 teams and their supporters will be questioning how he could be fitted in under the cap

A few scenario's have been listed as possible ways the chooks could sign Cronk- Cronk a straight contract out of the salary cap budget/ Contract made up of salary cap and TPA payments/ Contract made up of Salary Cap and Coaching staff budget - (i.e Cronk signs on as a player and assistant coach (be hard for this to be passed by the NRL I suggest as other teams would want to do the same)

Do we need Cronk or should the Chooks be looking for another Front rower and centre of NRL standard though and or fast tracking players from the lower grades identified as NRL standard - I haven' seen the full NRL squad for 2018 to evaluate the depth in a number of positions

I know that Uncle Nick and the Board expected at least a Grand final appearance as a minimum and were not happy in losing another prelim final and considered it a failure for the club. Nick wants premierships not excuses or failures at the penultimate step - 3 prelim final defeats in 4 years- 2 when minor premiers and one as the second place team.

Cronk is only holding off his retirement announcement until after the world cup.
    This all ridiculous.
    We have our half back.
    We have an great team.
If anything we need a coaching advisor , I volunteer to tell Robbo when he's wrong , he just won't answer my calls.

Question... is it Pearce’s fault that Fergo dropped his pin-point kick?

Is it Pearce’s fault that Latrell kicked the ball out from the kick-off... TWICE?

is it Pearce’s fault that the tactic of picking an injured Toops on the bench rather than an extra forward backfired?

So we lost one game during the finals? Storm woulda beaten us anyway. I don’t get all the hate for Pearce. He’s our long-term HB and it’d be a dumb move to replace him with a hasbeen in his mid-30’s for 1 season. If Gronk wants to play for less than $1.5M due to a family connection with the club or some other pull factor that will motivate him to put in for us than great! If he’s just a mercenary wanting top dollar then... WTF?!? No way you’d punt a loyal player for him. We wouldn’t win a premiership anyway.

Only way we’ll get him (and his heart/effort) is if he actually wants to play. Are his mum, dad and mrs Roosters fans? NO! His Mrs is a soccer fan who lives on the frigging north shore. If anything he’ll play as a marquee player for the Titans, with the Bears secretly announcing a take-over. That’s my bet actually... secret deal for him to pump up the bears... Kev Proctor’s already got some coke waiting for him :P

That or he’ll play soccer with the goal of proving to his Mrs that Henry is no more skillful than him.

I'm not buying it. And if true, It would be a bad move IMO.

Pearce still has another 2 - 4 good years and he's probably going to be a one club man.

The only positive from Cronk would be the mentality / culture he could bring. Also, perhaps Cronk plays 7, Pearce plays 6 to take the organisation burden off Pearce?

But there's no way we can replace our organising player with a one year fill in and go into the 2019 season with any chance.

mmmmm...on one hand I woud like to think its a good signing and if he was 30 and not turning 34 I would be on it.
To expectan Old bloke who might break down ,who comes from a different culture different tactics etc etc etc.... to turn this team around ???? possibly but too many question marks.
The ramification on potential young hopefuls trying to get a look in.
    Dont like if its true
Seeing Shek go to oblivion on us is a hurter...Cowboys won a comp on our discards and looks like Newcastle are next.
Sure Cronk is a better 7 than our inconsistent Buddha .

But the fact that we're talking about it could be the deal breaker. He could do a Bennett if it's a hand-shake deal......

    Some concerns:

    1. HTF can we afford him, and hold on to JuJu.
    2. JuJu and Friendy and their posse would be shattered.
    3. Could destabilise the team severely.
    4. I think the addition of Teddy is enough in terms of big names. We need farking big boppers and a centre (by centre I mean one with experience, that can defend, and is strong and fast. Our current spine is fine, and would improve 10 fold with Teddy.

On second thought, i might run forwards instead. I'll get shin splints otherwise.

    Two thoughts on this:
    1. If it doesn't come off the impact on the existing squad is scary
    2. I assume if Cronk comes and we don't win the comp in 2018 he will be held accountable by the chookpen

As I said in another post this smells more like Bennett than Sonny-Bill

Am I the only person who doesn’t want him near our club? He’d give us a yeah then what...? Move Radley to #7?

Or is Jake secretly being groomed as the next QLD #7?

The only thing I’m hoping this speculation results in is Cronk’s market value being pumped up, so that whoever signs him is screeeewed!

Would look great but will never happen. Plus if it was an option I can't see Pearce agreeing to not playing 7.
Yep, punt our captain for a 1 year wonder?

Maybe we can free up cash for a season if Teddy goes to England for a season while we borrow Jordan Tansey or Matt Bowen :P

Oh I know... we can have Todd Carney on seapsies for Friend. He can double as our captain.
