In the last 4 games we have played OK. Our worst game in that lot was probably our win against the Panthers. We were unlucky against Souths and Tigers and the standard of those games was higher.

That said, Manly would definitely need to underestimate us for us to be a show. If Manly play like they did in the first half on Friday night they will flog us. If we get the second half Manly we are a shot.

Hopefully the last 4 weeks have given the boys enough confidence to give it a red hot go.

Predicting a brilliant running game and terrible kicking game from toddy this weekend. I'm not convinced Carney's running game has been any different to last year. I know that sounds stupid because he hasn't been nearly as damaging running across field. I think it is more a case of defences not panicking and shooting out/retreating creating a gap. This year teams have slid and held straight meaning the gap is smaller and no overlap is created. On Saturday we finally saw a response from Carney. Instead of drifting, he used his pace in closer to the ruck hitting Pearce balls with straight lines next to tired retreating forwards. I hope we see this early against manly with plenty of support after the line because it will also work to tire out manly's wide forwards who will have been covering their front rowers all game, creating opportunities later in the game for Carney to drift when they are too tired to slide effectively.
