If Pearce leaves he leaves, no matter how many games he has played for the Roosters. At the end of the day, the club is paying his wage and if someone is paying you upwards of $750,000, they have the right to tell you where to play for the good of the team. I am sick of players whinging that they want to play in certain positions to appease their egos. Andrew Johns played hooker for a few years for New South Wales, and many other players have done so over the years for the better of the team.
Personally I'd like to see Pearce move to hooker if Cronk signs. Friend can move on. Would do Pearce good to play hooker and see how Cronk operates from that perspective. If Pearce wants to play Origin again, or higher rep. honours, he needs to be able to cover a couple of positions ala Ben Hunt. If he decides to spit the dummy and move on, his loss.Sickie Lame .... King of Bestiality

Starting a thread by calling everyone who disagrees with you a ****wit really makes you the ****wit.........The club isn't disrespecting Pearse, it's his decision to stay or leave. Of course he's got a right to be disappointed but that's life. Just because he has played for us for a long time doesn't give him a mortgage on the halfback or 5/8 role for life. if he had performed better this situation wouldn't have come up. we wouldn't even be looking at Cronk.
I have no problem with Mitchell's commitment, and certainly he has tried hard, but his best just hasn't been good enough. It's a business decision by the club to go after Conk, and a no brainer in my opinion.
I have never rated Mitchell as a top class half, always thought he would be good at lock or hooker and I am sure the club would give him a chance in either of those positions, but if he chooses not to accept that then it's his choice. It's about results, not how many games you have played, the more games means more chances, and Pearse has had plenty, both on and off the field.
I hope he stays and plays hooker or lock, but certainly not 5/8 because I think Keary is a better option for us there, but if that's not acceptable to him then so be it. Pearce is not a great leader, not a game manager, not captain material and that's the area we are sadly lacking in. I think this is a chance for both Mitchell and the club to make a fresh start, I hope it works out well for both parties.

Mitch was re-signed on the understanding he would be halfback, just as he has done for the past 10 years. If that has now changed, he has every reason to request a change of club.
And I don't recall Andrew Johns playing hooker for his club side Newcastle. It's a little different playing hooker 3 times to playing it week in week out, 30 games a season.
Accusing a player of spitting the dummy because he may not prefer to change position and in turn force one of his best mates and co-captain out of the side is unfair in my opinion.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Who's the farkwits though...no chookpenners decided to sign Cronk and cause all the commotion.
As I see it we had an improved season on the previous year a few up and comers coming through ...someone at the club thinks that is a piece of the puzzle missing to make it work and go up another level. So be it .Everyone has a different opinion.
the only Farkwits is our board if they get this wrong..and they might.
Sheck gone Watson gone .....who's next Latrell?? get my drift.
Just let it ride out and lets see what happens ....I couldnt give too much a shit.

I don't care about Mitchell's feelings. I just want to win another comp. Players come and go and they will always go to the highest bidder.
I certainly respect what Pearce has done for us and I've never said a bad word about him but after the pre-lim I don't really mind if he leaves seeing that the current Australian halfback will be joining us.

Pearce has played 238 games for our club and i think in every one of them given 100%. Sure his not the best half in the comp but he is one of them. He has shown nothing but commitment and loyalty to this club and as a result the club up until now has shown it back. He has done 238 times more for this club than any of the try hard wannabes that are completely disrespecting him on here lately. He bleeds for the club for 10 years, is a premiership winning half and has been around for a very successful period for the club.
Sure be excited and upfront about the fact that Cooper is a better half than Mitch but why disrespect the man so much when all he has done is give his all and been a large part in the success we have had for 10 years. I'm excited Cronk is joining as well as he is a better half than Mitch but to come out and completely disrespect the effort and achievements he has made since being here shows how low some of you are. These same guys will mention loyalty in threads going forward from here and they wouldn't have a clue what the word means.
Give yourselves an uppercut. Keyboard heros.
There are some Pearce detractors who put forward a sensible argument without personal attacks.
Then tere are others who are just full of vicious slander and disrespect. Obviously those posters use the club (and players) as a punching bag to vent their frustrations within their own lives.
The thing i really don't get is, effort players by and large are revered in the NRL. Pearce is the one solitary effort player i can think of who recieves an absolute towling from the fans.
