  • On a positive note. 2018

I look forward to seeing 40/20's and a game manager who can get results..

Cronk is a ten times a game manager compared to Pearce.

What makes me laugh is when I hear people defend Pearce and say he is a game manager and thats why he doesn't have vision or flashy plays, when in reality he is a poor game manager. He is a big reason why we struggle to play 80 minutes and drop in and out of games. Failure to have a cool head under pressure, get repeat sets, or place the right pass instead of being robotic does that

Don't confuse game management with organisation.

Both address similar but also vastly different intricacies in the game and generally those people you laugh at (including me) are arguing that he's a world class organiser.

        Conducting set plays =/= organised.

how many times has our team looked like a disorganised rabble throughout the year ? (Too many)

How many times did we fail to compete for a full game ? (Too many) I see that as a failure of the coach and the halves. That lack of consistency is a failure to organise players. Is it not ?

The second half of the Origin II was another prime example where the blues looked disorganised and rushed. When teams play frantically is that not a lack of a lack of composure and organisation? I would argue that 2nd half of Origin II resulted from a severe lack of organisation of the blues side and a failure to organise the tempo of the game.

The commentary team blasted the blues side (in particular the halves) for failing to be organised and directed at an injured Thurston.

Game management and organisation might be two different things, but you can't be a 'world class organiser' if you can't organise the tempo of the players around you throughout a game.

Organisational Management. The process of organising planning leading and controlling resources within an entity with the overall aim being acheiving its objectives

How do you manage a game if your not organising?
game managment is just a new trendy name they used to call steering the ship.

Agree. Pearce is a solid player but has no variety in kicking game and lacks X factor. Yes Pearce has had one of his best seasons but thats after how many years at the club? Also admittedly he is one of the best halfbacks in the game but i feel thats more reflective of the lack of quality halfbacks in the game as of recently than of Pearce being a golden player.

I reckon Newcastle would be mad to buy Pearce.
