What are you trying to say?

Nobody on this forum has ever played State of Origin but that doesn't deny them having an opinion....

Should be Great Britain combining England/Wales/Scotland/Northern Ireland- Ireland republic standalone - need to develop the game in Italy and Japan as both play international rugby- USA too - the Key to making it an International sport one has to say - developing the game at the domestic level in a range of countries too so they have a decent domestic comp- Had hopes for Russia but seems the game has gone backwards there- needs more coaches and funds going to these countries to develop the game one has to say for a proper world cup
Fair points...but some of the games for example Tonga verses Samoa and PNG verses Ireland have been competitive and enjoyable.

Admittedly most of the players are NRL, ESL, NSW and Qld cup players that make up most of the players in the above mentioned teams.

Hopefully the game takes off more in the USA and Canada with the ESL second division teams over there.

Will be a hard sell to convert the Italians and Japanese to league, RU is entrenched in both of those countries as the number one rugby code and both coutnries have professional rah rah competitions with a lot of money on offer.

Five-eighth James Tedesco had an excellent game in a relatively new position for him, and his coach commended his focus on his own role.

Tedesco played smart and patient, never over-playing his hand and was rewarded with two tries, while his kicking game worried the United States for 80 minutes.

"I thought [Tedesco] was really good… I thought he was really patient when he went out there, he was really calm and had some classy touches," the coach said.
OMG maybe we should have Cronk at 7, Teddy at 6, Flash back to 1, Pearce at 5 and Keary at 9/14 with Friend....What a mess...

Loved the Fijian team signing pre match. Beautiful singing from footballers. Brought some true culture to the tournament.

up there with png cross as a highlight

The Fijians have got to get tougher otherwise as soon as they come against Australia, NZ or Tonga & probably Papua New Guinea they will get done.
2 blokes have really stood out for me so far in the World Cup & they are the PNG half back & the Tongan half back. Both top players.

Am really enjoying the footy played so far, especially from the Pacific nations. And the commentary and the panel discussion are so far superior to anything the gibberers at 9 have offered for years. Jim Wilson is doing a great job of leading the telecast I reckon. How good is it to have people talking about the game that do not have their own agendas and opinions to push down everyone's throat, and just concentrate on the positives of the games.

The Tongan half, is with the Warriors and has played some fg this year with them. Showed a lot of promise in the games he played for them. My fear for him is at the Warriors he wont reach his potential like it has been for Johnson.

Blake Green would be good for the Warriors if it eventuates. He will be a good mentor.

                      • Did everyone take note of TKO's stats as a starting prop from the Samoa game? 24 runs for 272m and 22 tackles. Out did Fifita and Taumalolo.

I expect we might see him at prop for us throughout 2018.

Sure did and.what made it more impressive is that the Samoan pack had quite a few NRL or former NRL players.

He has been tremendous for the Tongan team in the World Cup. And his goal kicking has been on point as well. A little extra tuition from Jason Taylor and Flash Gordon in 2018 will bode well for him being handed the goal kicking duties when Flash is not in the 17 and looking forward past 2018. I would prefer Latrell not to have that responsibility at this stage.

Maybe let SST kick off as well.

Good call. I second that motion Latrell's brain snaps are more from lack of concentration, rather than lack of ability, but his tendency to run hot and cold without notice means I'm loath to give him too much responsibility. There is still a lot of growing up to do by Latrell, which is understandable given his age.
