Sure he can pass, but all the extra defence he'd be required to do would have to be questionable
Pearce is a good defender for a 7 but would definitely be found out at 9 based on his current tackling technique. Friend is vastly superior in that regard.
He could be a very good no 9, but I really think if he was to move there we would need a Dallas johnson/fensom type defensive machine in the no 13 to plug up the middle of the field. Otherwise we'll leak points big time.

We did alright this last season when Friend was out injured, I would prefer some zip and speed from DH, some crisp passing and another viable option as far as creativity is concerned. As a half Peace can be a bit limiting but as a hooker he would be dynamic he wont do as much tackling as Friend but will be better in everything else.

I would release Pearce because I think he could go to another club & play in the halves. I would then start Friend & have Radley off the bench playing similar minutes to Friend.
If Cronk signs and no Premiership in 2018 then what??

What makes you so sure Robbo will get the bullet if he fails to win the comp next year. Eg what if we lose the gf in extra time or due to a bad call. Still sacked???
