Kane is off to the cowboys

The Sydney Roosters have secured the services of winger Peni Tagive for two years, commencing in 2012.

Tagive, 22, will join the Roosters from the St George Illawarra Dragons who have released him from the final year of his contract.

Roosters recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan believes Tagive will be a valuable asset for the Roosters moving forward.

“Peni is one of the fastest ball runners in the NRL and will add some great depth to our outside backs. We are looking forward to watching him develop as part of our team over the coming seasons.”

Tagive joins the club as the Roosters announce the departure of centre Kane Linnett at the end of the season. Linnett has come to terms with the North Queensland Cowboys.

Roosters CEO, Steve Noyce, said: “Kane has been a great asset to the Sydney Roosters and has a lot of great footy ahead of him. We wish him all the very best and thank him for his service to the Sydney Roosters.”

Guess this means BJ full time in the centres. If he isn't injured then I don't mind but the depth is the only worry.

Not sure if I'm happy about this or not. We need more depth in the centres / wingers positions. We are giving away one injury prone centre for another still unproven just as injury prone winger! Am surprised Linnett went to Cowgirls. I was expecting him to go back to St Merge if anyone.

Well they sure as sh!t better hold onto Moga now. BJ is not a long term centre option in my opinion and both Blair and Rona (the only other promising centres) both seem to be exclusively right side players. Geez I hope the next announcement isn't Guerra back to Melbourne. Wouldn't be a surprise though.

Atleast Penny Togive is a genuine winger. IMO the lack of a finishing winger has cost us dearly. Kane showed alot of promise last season but this year hes contributed SFA and wont be anything other than a fringe 1st grader in the future - hopefully this means we might get Willie mark 2 lol

If it means keeping Moga over Linnett for long term centre I might just pick Moga... he seems a genuine superstar in the making.

Well, this now paves the way for BJ in the centres and a new winger, will it be tagive, will it mean dugan signs with the Roosters and Mini to the wing, or will we be signing someone else?????

I think Kane will excel at the Cowboys. He does run hard and straight at speed so will probably bag a heap of tries with Thurston being a left side dominant player.
