Remember, Kane signing with the Cowboys could be soely down to Kanes own desicion.

I mean we have many people who can fit in to the centre/wing positions......the cowboys on the other hand want a ready centre who can slot straight into first grade to replace Tonga.

Kane could have seen this as an opportunity to cement a first grade spot without doing much at all. That is something that the Roosters could not offer.

In reality, you take the path of least resistance, Kane wants to play first grade, the cowboys have the opening for him to slot straight in.

I'm not happy about this for the reasons many of you have already enunciated. It seems past glory's slightly cryptic insinuations about colour may have some merit but I'll wait and see if further actions by the club confirm or deny.

This is a club that sets out to win at all costs... Do you think colour makes a difference?

To me Linnett is a solid first grader, it would of been nice to keep him for a bit depth.

But BJ is much better and we have a couple of good backs coming through, you can't keep them all.

Yeah I think after the initial shock at the news, I tend to agree with this.

Ah, I see you may have taken what I wrote differently to how I intended it and that is my mistake. PG has hinted in the past that the coach prefers certain players over others due to a specific natural characteristic the players possess. Now I don't know if that is true or not and neither do I care, I'm just looking at this recruitment of Tagive and loss of Linnett as an example of a move that supports the hints. Other recruitment moves may not, I just find what PG says interesting. As to your question, I really don't know the answer to that as I appreciate there can be differences between players of different origins but believe that attitude is the ultimate differentiator where all else is equal in the physical ledger.

Not overly worried about losing Linnett. I just don't see what is so great about him. He's handy but no superstar. I'm guessing the Cowboys were throwing a fair bit more coin around then us considering they have released Willie Tonga. Personally I think Leilua will be a better long-term prospect than Linnett anyway and if Moga develops......well he could be anything.

I like Kane but I see no reason to pay up for him if someone else wants to

G, this is a comment formed from nearly 10 years of moronic signings or non-signings.

I cite Brett Finch and Willie Mason for the signing idiocy.

I also add the fact that we had the chance to sign Jonathan Thurston in 2003 but Ricky Stuart, Phil Gould and Bernie Gurr said no when he was offered to them.

It's hard to get good early ball in space when you have Anasta inside of you, Kane will kill it up in North Queensland.

Gone are the days of being able to have 2 first grade teams

                              Keep Graham, Pritchard, J Carney.

Anasta throws good passes, when the refs don't call them back for being forward when they're NOT.

Carney and Pearce havn't exactly been great halves with magic passes this year...and they need to skill-up in the off season.
