While he may not be the greatest and paid too much, but honestly the blind hatred is ridiculous.

On Ricky, that was not one of his greatest decisions not getting Thurston, but do not doubt, despite his interpersonal skills, he is one of the smartest football brains getting around. Gould, well he is the master of hindsite
Braith has a good short side rush, which can put his outside man in limited space.

Apart from that, he is way below average in terms of the options he takes, and the passes he throws.

The Souffs game (which I think was Linnett's last game?), Linnett should have had an easy try, but Anasta threw a cut out to no-one. He also received an absolute bullet inside ball from Anasta, that he had no chance of catching, straight into his rib cage. Knock-on, momentum lost.

I would love to see Braith put our men into space with nice passing. Unfortunately, he only ever does this on the short side, which gives them limited time and space.

Pearce is the only player in our side with a legitimate, long, accurate cut out ball to put a centre in some open pastures. Carney can hit players out wide when we're close to the try line, but generally he creates space by running across field with runners coming back on the inside (something which hasn't happened this year).

Yes, Anasta has been more involved the past few weeks. He still is caught between being a five-eighth and a backrower, and not in a good way, like Mateo, who is a legitimate threat, but in a bad way. He ends up forcing his hand and his running game - his step is becoming as readable as Pearce's, and his options are heavily telegraphed, and quite often poorly executed.

I don't have blind hatred for Braith. I have a bit of pity, to be honest, because I believe he genuinely wants to be a weapon for this club, and wants this club to succeed. Unfortunately, his talent doesn't match up to his desire, or his paycheck. Yeah, "fuuck him off" might be a bit harsh, but in all seriousness, the next step towards success for this club is to have a hardworking forward pack that rolls forward, and Braith prevents this.

Thanks for putting it far better than I could have.. I have never met Braith and he comes across as a quality person (contract handling aside) but as you said, he is neither a 5/8 or a backrower. He puts in some nice touches from time to time but cannot provide the workrate the team needs and suffers too often from the Brett Finch wrong option syndrome which at this stage of his career he will never overcome. Simply he is a luxury the club cannot afford.

          well said.
his desire and talent have never been in synergy.

I am very disappointed that Kane Linnett is leaving. Kane is only young and relatively new to first grade. I thought he was playing strong this year and was on an upward learning curve to a really good first-grade centre. I agree with others that Thurston will make Kane excel.

Particularly can't understand why people think that BJ is an easy switch from the wing into centre. BJ has been very poor this year...tries hard but has terrible defensive reads and always makes unforced errors.

I'm sure people were saying this about SKD at the start of last year. We can only hope (I know - he still does those things at times).

Centre is a more natural position for BJ though and the uncomfortable move for him was going to the wing, which was persisted with for too long.

My opinion of Tagive is he has feet for hands... He just looks awkward whether running catching or passing

I have a feeling that the Roosters will rue this day. I'll give Tagive a go but if Kane Linnett comes back and bites our arses then this club will just not give a goddamn because the fans don't seem to matter.

The FOB winger in the NYC should progress to first grade next year. Don't let him out of your site JT !

                      He is THAT good.

i have been a Linnett fan since he hit first grade but to be honest i dont think he has shown too much this year with the (admittedly limited) chances he has been given.

In regards to BJ though what you describe above sounds like a certain backpacker that has killed it since switching to the centres.

I admit I am no great judge but I think BJ has been crucified a lot on the wing this year with receiving balls in no win situations where he has had to battle to just stay in touch let alone try and beat his man. A lot on here seem to think he is suited to the centres and I too am keen to see what he can do there.

Have a look at BJ's game vs Bulldogs last year.. Killed it that day in the centres

Hopefully Tagive can be like Fai Fai Loa both couldnt crack Dragons sides but when did showed potential.
Pity we were a year to late on trying to get Kalifa.

In my opinion BJ isn't a second-rower like most think, not yet at least. I'm thinking it was either BJ or Linnett and am glad we got rid of Linnett as we don't need him and he was asking for too much 'apparently.'
Has BJ even signed for next year though???
