Can you name me another professional sporting competition in the world where the players priority is playing with their mates? Do you think it happens in the NBA, NFL, EPL, La Liga or Serie A? If you want to play with your mates, you go play in a pub team. The main priority for teams in professional sporting competitions is success. The players will be upset for a couple days and that will be it. Not putting in will also cost players lots of money when they need to extend their own contracts. The amount of bs on this forums that is being put out against this move to sign Cronk is beyond any comprehension.

roosters just stocking up on big names, with no direction on how they will play, must be able to get great odds on chooks missing the 8, next year is looming as a debacle.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the true state of things is different to how it’’s being reported.
Broadcast media creates the narrative and Social media (inc comments sections and forums) give it life.
My prediction:
1. Cronk signed to play starting HB, and mentor junior halves also, with cushy job at other end if he does a good job
2. Pearce is gone. And deservedly so, IMO. His chance to redeem himself in the eyes of coaches and Board was last season, and he failed.
3. Friend to see out his contract and alongside Cordner, asked to be professional about it all.
4. Keary already told he’’’ll be 5/8 next year alongside CC. In negotiations for a 3rd year - both parties keen to make it happen.
All else being reported, including disharmony and players feeling dudded, etc, is horribly beaten-up and being made into the key narrative disingenuously.
I think by Dec we’ll see Pearce to Newcastle with Keary extending, and the boys firing the fcuk up for a major tilt next year.
I don’t have inner knowledge of the facts but am business-and-media-savvy enough to see through it. Hope I’m right!Last edited by Salvatori Grubber; 11-01-2017, 10:35 AM.Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Keary will have his contract extended.
Also expect to see Cordner's contract to be extended before the start of next season.
