Nothing to do with the hattrick.

    He's the complete backrower.

Speed, power, footwork, runs great lines and can hit a hole, can offload, strong defender, stamina, work ethic, strength of character... what's not to like?

I think the Chooks need a front row enforcer before Crighton. Another dynamic backrower has to come after getting the best prop in the game.

IF you’re not a Roosters fan, look away now. But if you love your Chooks, well, roll down the window and sing cock-a-doodle-do.

The anticipated departure following his second positive drug test of Sydney Roosters utility Jayden Nikorima will free up $350,000 in the club’s salary cap.

Yes, that’s the correct figure, $350,000.

The 21-year-old Queensland under-20s and Junior Kangaroos utility arrived at the club from the Broncos in 2016 with a massive boom.

But for one reason or another, Nikorima managed to play just seven NRL games.

WHAT’S THE BUZZ: Saint, sinner, shoosh
Is Jayden Nikorima really on $350,00 a year? (shakes head ...) (Mark Metcalfe/Getty Images)
Which brings us to Mitchell Pearce.

Should Pearce, who is on around $800,000, opt to leave the club in the wake of Cooper Cronk’s signing, the Roosters could boast a tick over a $1 million in their salary cap.

That’s right $1 million, to spend whenever they want.

Which brings us to South Sydney forward and the hottest young talent in the game, Angus Crichton.

The Roosters are angling hard for Crichton, who is also weighing up huge offers from Cronulla and of course, the Rabbitohs.

After playing just eight senior games in his debut season in 2016, Crichton went to another level this year, being named by his teammates as the Rabbithos’ players’ player and labelled a future NSW Origin star.

Crichton is faced with a massive call on where he plays once his current deal expires at the end of 2018.

The Sharks see him as their answer to veterans Luke Lewis and Paul Gallen. It’s a massive wrap.

As such, the 21-year old was given the royal treatment by Cronulla at a private dinner, which included Gallen and Michael Ennis, last Tuesday night.

I would spend the cash on Jessie Bromwich. I would rather Jordan McLean but the Cowboys were smart enough to get him.

Dunno what the Crichton story is.
I'm just very pleased that players like Teddy and Cronk want to play for us.
Cronulla would be a bad move for Angus however.

I'm sure our interest (and others) has had the desired effect for Angus & his manager. Chiching . Add that to your Book of Feuds Rusty!

Haha yep. They lowballed him really bad so they'll have had to massively up there offer.

If we don't sign him then at least we've contributed to Souffs having to fork over significantly more cap space to keep him.

I really rate Crichton but our primary need is prop anyway so Paulo would be a damn good second prize please.

Big Pauli Pauli would be worth the gamble also. He's had his fair share of injuries over the last couple of years but he's got plenty of ability.

The only way I would go near any melb forward would be if we had Cronk or Smith, oh wait .... They do well under a game plan that has them playing as brainless robots controlled by these two. Outside of that they struggle.

On Angus Crichton its not what he is or was its how he has developed. I thought him a handy RU player that got accolades from doing to the pretty bits and not really getting involved in the dirty hard work stuff enough, to me he was a tad overrated and not a player I would have necessarily put much effort into signing. The Waratahs made a call I thought sensible. Maguire took a chance and through a lot of hard work and good coaching/mentoring he has come a very long way. I have been very impressed.

In my opinion if he is not happy I think its because of how Souffs got rid of Maguire
