    Yeah?
You need to rethink that a bit, most people want to be something a bit better than what they already are

Don't be too hard on yourself.
The only way for me is up, and I could do worse.

How does it work? IMO Roosters could have a zero tolerance clause in their contracts that is like ‘if you get done with illegal drugs then that’s a serious breach of club policy... we can sack you immediately...’

IMO we owe him nothing. Signed on a 1st grade contract as a possible long-term half. Never cut the mustard, played like a solid reserve-grader and we no longer need him.

Well the Tele claimed he’d failed 2 compulsory tests and is facing a Barba-esque 12 week suspension. Guessing we’ve gotta pay him to sit out and do jack all for 12 weeks. IMO there should be the option for the club to sack you for that. My work would sack me if I was done ONCE with illegal drugs.

I thought Cronulla did sack him & then they were going to buy him back for a reduced price after his suspension was up.

Other sporting codes around the world take a ZERO tolerance policy towards drugs. The NRL has always allowed players to get away with drugs lightly in my opinion.

The EPL and NFL for example actually come down harshly on players caught with drugs in their systems and hence why their players rarely get involved in drug scandals.

The NRL need to sack a couple of high profile players and not allow them to resign before the message gets across

SKDs and Carter got the boot. Nikroma should face the same axe and the club shouldn't have to pay him out either

What is it that he has tested positive to twice?
                  Steroids or recreational drugs?

I wouldve thought it would have been written into all contracts along with domestic violence, drink driving etc

Are you serious? The NFL only suspends players for Marijuana on a 4th positive test and for 4 matches. Each NFL player is tested in the offseason once a year and only between April and August. A first time positive test for anabolic steroids is a 4 match suspension. A second positive test for anabolic steroids gets you a 10 match suspension, whilst a first time positive test to a diuretic or masking agent cops you a 2 match suspension, second time also 10 matches. Only a third time suspension for steroids or masking agents/diuretics gets a decent suspension being 2 years.

Other than on here & an article in the tele there doesnt seem to be much said about the Nikorima situation. Not a word was mentioned about it on NRL 360 tonight.

I think most credible journalists are leaving the subject alone until any appeal is heard and the result is finalised. And until that time, I doubt you will hear anything from the Roosters or the NRL either. Which is how it should be. At the end of the day, this could have a huge impact on a young player's life and career and the less muckraking the better.
