He's got three kids, probably one of kids is sick. Everything matters but family matters more than football.

I'm hoping it doesn't have anything to do with a nasty rumour in Rothfield's newspaper column last Sunday. He alluded to a high profile NRL player's behaviour and how it could impact on his family. Done in the usual rumour style that Rothfield employs for that column with no actual names given.

Are we all assuming that the Molyan/sharks deal is just a coincidence?

I’d be gobsmacked if Mal let Jimmy leave camp and give up his jersey to sign a contract. I’d also be astonished if Gould placed a time on any agreement knowing Maloney in camp. The Roos next game is in Sydney so imagine they’d have plenty of downtime this week to execute.

just can’t see this being related to contracts

I thought we were dumb letting BBQ go. Now sharks are doing the same.

                      Private family matter?

IMO more likely than not it’s to do with his wife having to look after all the kids off while he’s playing as a reserve 5/8 in a comp with a pre-determined outcome due to Australia’s dominance.

He’s probably been like fark this... Mrs is struggling and this comp is BS. Time to head home, hang with the kids and keep the Mrs happy. They’re more important than a Claytons World Cup trophy.

Guessing he wants like $1M+ and is like ‘hey every other Kangaroos spine player is on that, WTF is with me getting offered $600k as if it’s generous? Fark that!! Might as well just cash in for the last few years of my career and earn $1M+ a season wherever I can get it ‘coz after that my salary for the kids goes <<<<<.

The Riff specials for a premiership in 2018 IF Maloney signs

You may be right but I think the Chooks, Melbourne, Cowboys & Broncos are the top 4.
