Pearce is completely opposite in every regard, a poor on field leader, a poor off field leader, when I lived in Aus I went to many Roosters corporate events and Pearce would have a couple of brews, begrudgingly talk to a couple of sponsors and be first to leave. Freddy would stay, drink and be last to leave.

Anasta poor on field leader, but off field an absolute champ.

on the flip side I also witnessed him at Rooster fan days mixing well with the kids and families when no alcohol was involved, I know he says he does not have a problem, but that is the problem, until he realizes, finding Buddhism, rehab crap, booze bans etc etc will do nothing because according to him there is nothing to fix.

Fittler is partly responsible for the drinking culture and lack of discipline that a young Pearce and Friend were privy to at a very early stage of their career and have been paying the price for since.

Some players are more easily lead than others. You can include SKD in that list as well.

Ah forgot about SKD, but until this year's misdemeanour, his off field antics never landed him in much trouble, if there were any antics at all. The court stuff brought up by his ex was rubbish. I know he was probably a party man but he was never really likened to as Einstein nor he was ever going to be a long term club captain.

I agree re Aubusson, a very fine young man. Perhaps the most model citizen in the entire NRL.

I'd make Cords sole captain next year. (Won't happen though caz uncle Nick loves Friend). But agree that he needs to talk up more and lay the law down at those times in games when our players start to clock off.

The players say that Pearce is their leader on the field anyway so making him captain probably won't change anything

He also loves Pearce & look what happen there.
Nick has a massive ego & he wants to win so if he feels that the club needs one of his loved ones to be replaced by someone else he will do it. Its called tough love.
