We took Diamonds O'Donnell off them a decade later. That revenge really was a dish served cold.

Saw video of LOD the other day in "best fights in rugby league"...let's just say 'not taking a backward step'.
Tetevano must become the new LOD, Liu must rise to greater heights, and our young forwards step up.
Cows got McLean...we could've done with him.
Liu was going great guns in the second half of the season but in the prelim he dropped the ball cold in our quarter which was our first mistake and the rest is tragic history.

Luved McCabe,...........what they took Gurr (I'd blocked that one out) HOW GOOD were the Gurr v Brentnall bomb catching duels. They used to smash each other.........friggin awesome memories.

Was it around that time we pinched Terry Fahey from Souffs.

Also, Wasn't Dennis Beecraft one of the first drop punt touch kickers? (as opposed to the mighty Horrie torpedoes) I'm sure Wayne Pearce got JuJu to study Dennis .......

Geeze I started this thread. OK back on topic. To the other 15 shitty teams in the NRL ,,,,,,stay away from Luke Keary !!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously... who would give up a 3 year deal where they get to play with Cronk, Tedesco and Cordner in a team that’s gonna be favourite to win the premiership?

IMO that’s what we have going for us. A premiership is the single BEST thing for future contract negotiations. Premiership seasons give you AWESOME highlights reels and make you look twice the player you really are. If you hanging around is gonna all but guarantee a premiership, you simply won’t move on.

Roosters’ current squad is under the cap. We don’t NEED to punt anybody and nobody wants to leave because they all want 1 thing! EVERYBODY will know that there’s an extra 1 million that will be freed up once Cronk leaves as well. For all we know, Pearce will be like ‘my goal is to push Cronk outta the team because I’m better than him!!!’ Keary knows that if he pairs well with Pearce and Cronk, he’s in serious contention for rep jerseys. Stuff pairing with DCE or Moylan! You’ll go absolutely nowhere with that.

I guess we will find out by the weekend if the Golden Child buys in and stays loyal or spits the dummy and moves on.

Depends how well his manager talked him up during his much needed escape

He has been our highest-paid player for almost all of his NRL career. I think the spondula kept him there more than any sense of loyalty. It's time for him to move on.
The club has been more loyal to him than vice-versa.

Paul McCabe went to Manly in 1982 while Fulton was still at Easts, Marty Gurr actually went to Souths in 1984 before going to Manly in 1985 .

No no no Horrie, I've always seen Manly and Fulton as the villain in this. Don't set me straight now! But seriously I guess I was young at the time so my recollection is obviously wrong. I do remember being very upset with all the players making their way to Manly one by one. Gee I hated Manly so much back then.

Geeze man I was 12. It’s really all a blur now. To me it still feels like the entire 80/81 side just packed their bags and walked across the SH Bridge. I was so cut up. If Horrie had gone I reckon i may have totally lost the plot. Yep, more so than now

one awesome thing I clearly remember was a big win v Manly around that time at home, the old SFS. We won something like 41-2 with Ian Schubert running for about 280m, or so it felt. I trolled YouTube for footage with no luck unfortunately.
