I don't think Dylan Sharp will be re-signed. They brought Jared Wearea-Hargreaves so I doubt they will retain Dylan Sharp unless he gets a contract with Newtown. He has had a disrupted season with injury. He is a good player, great though on his day.

Cos hes 28 next year and hes very average. Misses laterally, has limited ball skills and we have many that can do this role anyway.

I think Shack's defensive workrate is pretty poor too. He plays with a lot of heart, and if he did stay with us I would be happy as any, BUT it isn't a HUGE loss. We can cover for his absence, but he will be missed. Champion bloke, and he ran hard as any on his day. It is mighty unfortunate that he had injuries at frustrating times.

Debuting at the end of 2005 and playing in Round 25 and 26, Shack started off 2006 very well and cemented a starting spot, but went down in Round 5 (v Sharks) with a leg injury. He returned in Round 12 (v Eels) and played out the rest of the year, but he looked a bit tentative, was down on minutes and fitness, and lacked his previous impact.

In 2007, he only missed Round 1 and 2 (injury) and Round 16 and 17 (suspension), playing out the whole season. He started the season off slowly, continuing his middling form from the backend of 2006, but struck form near the end of the season once Fittler took over.

In 2008, he suffered a severe bicep injury in the pre-season trials, that robbed him of most of his season. He made two appearances in Round 22 and 23, and played out the backend of the season with the Jets while the Roosters completed their unsuccessful finals campaign.

So far in 2009, he has only missed two games, in Round 9 and 10, but has found a more consistent run of form that has earned him a regular starting spot in either the front row or back row, as well as a new and larger contract with the Parramatta Eels.

In summary, you can see that his leg injury that he suffered in mid-2006 just after he was coming into a great streak of form, led to him playing well below his potential for the entire backend of 2006, and most of 2007 until Freddy took over. It is unfortunate that 2008 was robbed from him by injury, but I am glad that the club showed faith in him, and he showed this year that if utilized right, and once he has found a bit of confidence in an injury-free run, he can be a very strong and consistent forward. I wish him all the best at Parra!

We haven't seen the best of Shacks yet. I believe we let him go a year too early. I reckon 2010 will prove to be his best year yet. Unfortunately we will be seeing his best form with him not playing for the Roosters..

Welcome mate and I agree with you on this - Shack will show the Roosters they were wrong to let him go. Saw him on the Footy Show and he looked a big fit unit. Finally free of injuries his best is ahead of him.

Good article, it also confirms that Martin Kennedy is contracted until the end of next season.

I have put sources for most signings on the first page of this thread. There is no print source for Nuuausala but Mario heard it from the man himself so that counts.

Unfortunately I have no source on the three props Lopini Paea, Stanley Waqa and Mose Masoe, but I believe all are here till at least the end of next season.

                        First post for me!

FPN also told me earlier this year at the broncos game that he has re-signed for a few years and there was also an article where Noyce said he was signed long term.

Mose sat next to me at the Trivia night and told me he had re-signed for 3 years. I posted it on the wall and someone else posted it here.

I am just wondering, maybe we should re-sign Dylan Sharp?

Yes he isn't flash, but the bloke makes plenty of tackles and puts his body on the line, looks like Fitzy too, with the premature balding haha.

                          Maybe it is a sign!

I'd take Dylan Sharp over Brad Takairangi. I just can't understand why we would sign Takairangi into our fulltime squad for next season. Dylan Sharp is exactly what you said, isn't too flash but hits hard in defence and takes the ball up when nobody else is doing it.

There's a rumour going around that Luke Towers is close to signing with the Sharks. Don't know how true this is but if anybody knows anything, please post it up here. Also we've apparently signed kid by the name of Danny White, a five-eighth from Keebra Park High in Queensland. Is currently playing Arrive Alive Cup with Keebra so he might pop on tv soon when Keebra get televised.

Luke Towers will be at the club next season... I think there's some funny story behind the whole rumour but I wouldn't have a clue what it is... maybe someone else does. But yeh in short it's nothing, he'll be here next season.
