In other words he has not finalised his deal elsewhere just yet

In fact, Noyce speaks very calmly and responds very cleverly.
The question that followed about Mason seeing out his 2010 contract was
whether Mason was part of Smith's plans.
Noyce didn't actually answer with a definitive yes or no. He skirted around the question by commenting on how the 2010 squad are embracing the change and how content they are to see the new gym equipment etc..

I can't see Willie participating in pre-season training. Some will disagree but that's my opinion based on Smith's "way ahead".
