  • Peni Tagive: gigantic and fast

Just read this 'Although a large winger, Tagive is a speedy athlete, recording 6.79 seconds over 60 metres.'

JESUS CHRIST!!! This guy is a tank!!!

And sounds exactly like every other off season signing we've ever had....we sure know how to over rate them.

    Martin Offiah was fast too.

Justin Carney was very quick as well... I'd prefer a bit slower but smarter.

easts recruits/players living the dream on youtube hype have disappointed us so far
is this part of POS's research? lol
classic recent examples include Williamson & J Carney.

overhype Tagive and you will be disappointed!

Anyone looks good outside of a good forward pack and halves combination.

Look at Waqa at the Storm.

Basically, the club is doing the right thing. Tagive is no superstar, no freak. But we have a very good prop of young forwards: Kennedy, Tasi, JWH, Masoe, Guerra, with Ryles an old head.

If this pack plays to its potential, Pearce and Carney will follow. The difference will be that now, with guys like Tagive, we will have some genuine speed on the wings.

We don't need Tagive to be a superstar. We need him to catch the ball, run fast, and put it over the line. Hopefully he can do that.

There will still be those on here that would complain that he didn't do it right, or fast enough, or with enough flair. I'm coming to the conclusion that we're the hardest mob of fans to please

Spot on. We don't want to sign a winger for top dollar. Tagive is exactly the type of signing we need. Someone with speed and height that isn't going to cost the earth.

Tagive will be a solid winger. In his games so far this year with the saints hes shown hes nothing fancy, but he can do a job. It'll be a nice change I'd say having a winger that is actually quick.

PS. CC, how's Moga looking?? Youtube superstar?? - He found the roosters right, picked them out of a hat and said, 'yep, this is the team for me'... same with BJ...

Where is is any better than Linnett?? At least Linnett has solid defence to his credit.. I still can't fathom the reason for this...

He may not be any better than Linnett at centre but I'd say he will be on the wing. We have plenty of cover at centre with BJ, Maubs, Blair and Moga. We lack speed, strength and height on the wing. Things that can't be trained. If true that the Cowboys offered Linnett $200K then I think we would have saved $100K on Tagive. Linnett was not worth keeping for $200K.

Agree. I would've like to sign Tagive and keep Linnet. Not sure why, but Linnet has never been favoured at the Roosters. It wouldve been nice to have Linnet, BJ and Tagive to fight out the spots. Not that Linnet is a superstar, but he has height and speed as well.

I have no faith in J Carney, Naughton or Graham providing anything. Despite Graham's recent lift in form, he has been inconsistent at best. I would've much preferred to Linnet to any (or all) of JCarney, Naughton or Graham.

If that is true, I am glad the Roosters let him go! He is not worth this amount!

I use the example of Hayne's Jack the Ripper style butchery of that try on Monday as an example of why flair is not always good.

Justin Carney was great at Canberra until he snapped his leg in half. He's lost a hell of a lot of speed and agility since then. He was always going to be a big risk.
