exactly. anyone who actually thinks carney only ever looked good on youtube is delusional. he was an absolute gem on the wing for the raiders and to be fair did get better over the course of the season for us. he has had plenty of injuries but im yet to write him off. tagive has stacks of potential that injuries have hampered greatly but he is still only 22/23. the fastest player at the dragons is quite a feat as well - the likes of soward, morris, nightingale, cooper, gaz and boyd would be hard to beat imo and he has the height and size to boot. throw in the sort of money that linnett is apparently getting at NQ and understandably so considering he is their replacement for tonga and it all makes sense. dont forget that linnett was not really linked with NQ for an extended period at all - he had offers on the table from cronulla and one other club for quite a while so for him to swoop on an opportunity with NQ like that suggests that the offer was too good to refuse imo.

Did he lose 2 feet in height also?

Remember, we really don't have any wingers on our team!
If we sold *****10***** back rowers (JWH, BJ, Cherro, Tasi, Cordner, Mataka, Takairangi, Symonds, FPN and Mose) we would still have our full strength starting team and would be able to buy at least 2 REAL wingers (it's sooooo stoopid having a back rower and a centre as our 1st choice wingers.) In addition we have too many run of the mill back rowers - no offence, but we simply don't need them all.

We just seem to get ripped off by hyped up rejects from successful clubs while they continue playing with their rep-grade back rowers, who never seem to get overtaken by the young prodigies.

              Oh well...

PS. CC, how's Moga looking?? Youtube superstar?? - He found the roosters right, picked them out of a hat and said, 'yep, this is the team for me'... same with BJ...
                are you serious?
who said anything about Moga or BJ?
read the post mate, youtube refers to Carney and Williamson!

My point is that Carney was looking good before his injury. Major risk to even sign him. Has looked very average for us. Whether he ever gets back to pre-injury form is debatable. For his sake, lets hope he is remembered more than his youtube highlights!

Look at Waqa at the Storm.

Basically, the club is doing the right thing. Tagive is no superstar, no freak. But we have a very good prop of young forwards: Kennedy, Tasi, JWH, Masoe, Guerra, with Ryles an old head.

If this pack plays to its potential, Pearce and Carney will follow. The difference will be that now, with guys like Tagive, we will have some genuine speed on the wings.

We don't need Tagive to be a superstar. We need him to catch the ball, run fast, and put it over the line. Hopefully he can do that.
                      Couldn't agree more!

I sure hope that doesn't come back to bite you (and us)!

But I agree while solid, he has in his time with us not stood out as rep material.
