  • Teddy

just doing a fairly long interview on FSN at the launch of the NSW Blues new playing strip.

talking about how keen he is to run off Cronk, also mentioned he returns to training on the 11th of December.

Will be interesting to see where he can take his game to under Robbo. He's no longer the big fish in a small pond who can get the ball whenever he wants it. He'll need to fit into a system and structure with plenty of taleneted players around him.

Will be interesting to see if Robbo uses him as a ball playing option and tries to develop that side of his game or cuts it out of his gane completely and uses him aa a pure ball runner.

He's by far our most valuable buy of the season.

With Manu and Latrell in the centres is an extremely dangerous back line.

Teddy is a very underrated ball player.

I'm sure he's had a few seasons with double digit try assists so he's a long way removed from being a pass retardant mong like Dugan.

As such I'd expect Robbo to utilise his skill set fully.

Just imagine a defence trying to match up against Luke Keary who may or may not give the pass to Teddy who may or may not give the pass to Latrell who may or may not give the pass to Toops who may or may not drop it depending on his mood

Nah that's harsh on Toops; he was almost our most consistent player in 2017.

But you get the point, between Keary and Teddy we have two of the most dangerous ball runners in the comp who can also pass. They'll just terrorise teams.

I just can't wait to see Keary run at a retreating defence. Will he cut through himself, or go short to Cordner, perhaps out the back to Teddy, or cut him out and go straight to Latrell.

Farkkkk someone pass me a tissue or a sock. That's spectacular viewing right there.

I don't think his ball playing is underrated, it gets praise from the media quite often.

Where as I don't actually think he's that good, he's a very awkward passer, he struggles to throw a spiral and his pass selection is quite predictable.

His strengths being that he can draw and pass, he has good range of passing and he's good under defensive pressure.

It's just a matter of whether Robinson and the coaching team think it's a skill worth developing in him and to what level.

Another one written off by R6... that can only mean good things if Maloney and Keary are anything to go by.

I said he would prove to be our most valuable buy and then went on to say how "extremely dangerous" our back line will be next year with Tedesco, Latrell & Manu in it.

Maybe you can explain how that is akin to writing someone off?

Seriously just drop all the BS personal attacks and add something to the footy discussion. If not then surely there's something more fun to do than follow me around on a forum?

The three-quarters are a very exciting prospect in attack. In defence, however...

Cmon Champ, isn't that exactly what you do, follow peoples post, critique them when they criticize you, your fanboy mates or players that are thankfully not at this club anymore.

Your may be a mod, but you should moderate everyone not just the ones that disagree with you

as for personal attacks, get a grip every time you reply to a post of mine you throw one in

it's an internet, people can call you out, quote you and disagree with you, like they will on the New Ashley or Womanly forums when you join them shortly

                  Aren't you my fanboy?

Hollus & Danish are only part time supporters, you've been on my back consistency for a long time now. Is this personality number 3 or 4 now, I've lost track?

Insult me all you want, I couldn't care less it's the internet. But just add something to the football discussion. Which in fairness you have your moments of actually making some though provoking points, Hollus less so.

Loving the off season. Just wondering how much the world cup will knock some clubs around for not only pre season training but also the injury factor from the world cup and fatigue mid season (ori9in) and the finals series.

Teddy needs to improve his defence.

Not much good scoring one try and letting 2 in.

Maybe Mini could teach him "the spider" tackle.

Part time supporters? That’s a laugh! I’ve been a member of the club since I was 11! Prior to moving to New York last year, Danish and I attended 95% of all roosters games, including a period between 2012-2014 where we attended 50 games in a row. Now despite us living in NY and not being able to attend games we still maintain our season tickets to support the club and get up at 2-4am every weekend or weekday before work to watch the games!

.... but I guess because we don’t both fawn over Mitchell Pearce and challenge some of your absurd postings we must be ‘part time supporters’.

                          Whatever DH!

Teddy is an excellent defender. It's where he leaves RTS for dead as I've seen him make numerous Slateresque 1-on-1 try savers.

I'd rate him as probably the 3rd best defensive fullback in the game behind Slater and Dugan.

I'd back you on that Tommy. I've seem him clean up plenty of breaks with one on ones, regardless of size. I don't know what his defensive organisation is like from the back but he's played consistently at high enough levels for it to be as good or better than the next man.

What is promising is that Teddy wants to improve. He's not one for resting on his laurels and has taken on a new challenge at the Roosters. After copping so many hidings from them as a Tiger it will make a welcome change for him. That backline with Teddy, Mitchell, Ferguson, plus Manu and Tupou has a lot of points in it.
