Could it be this bloke ?

"including a one-armed Rugby League player called Kerry Gibson.

Disabled at birth with his left arm stopping just below the elbow, the remarkable Gibson hailed from Sydney and had made appearances for the lower grade teams of the Western Suburbs' club in the early 1980s. By heading overseas to France and the UK, he was able to earn a living as a professional player. As captain-coach he took Fleury to fourth on the table in the French second division in 1986.

When I caught up with Gibson, he was playing for a second division English club called Runcorn after an ugly falling out with rivals, Springfield Borough, whom he accused of unpaid wages. As I booked a local video-crew, he asked me to follow him to the match where he played against his old club – and tipped me off that he would try to punch his former coach as he left the field at fulltime and headed towards the dressing room. The punch – with his good arm – provided a bizarre yet entertaining twist to my report for SBS"

      1. A skills/fitness test once his finger is ready.
      2. The question of whether he starts in 2018 or 2019.

IMO he’s basically handed Souffs his middle finger on a plate and said he’s leaving them as one big F U. It’ll take a while to recover/adapt and Souffs will have to decide whether they wanna pay the guy to play 1/2 a season or whether they’re happy to release him so they can spend fheir money on a long-term option.

If we offered them Butcher as a swapsies, I reckon it’d be a done deal. However, I’m guessing we wanna avoid that + get Crichton to start in 2018. We just need to find Souffs a Willis Meehan or something.

Skills-wise it will be interesting. He essentially played without it last season you’ve gotta remember (i.e. it didn’t work, was fused on to make it look pretty and this made it break easily because it got bent back all the time). IMO while it sounds illogical, he’ll probably be better off without it, so will just have to adapt to it and move on. I’ve met a lot of people in office environments who use those stumps like normal fingers without any problem. His hands are probably pretty darn huge (so he can palm a ball with the other hand for sure), you don’t to crocodile catches with your fingers unless you are 2 years old and it’s not a thumb or index finger. He’ll be fine...
Where has our club said that it's us? The Vermin and the media have claimed it to be us, but I've never seen/heard any confirmation from the Chooks themselves.

Not fussed about the finger amputation - sounds like it will be less problematic now than it was.

Butcher for Crighton in 2018 - I realise that Fat Richo is dumb as, but I doubt even he would be that dumb unfortunately. I wish he was. Butcher is a long way behind Crighton in NRL terms and even the dimwitted Filthy Vermin know that.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Angus Crichton has told South Sydney he wants to play for them next season. Souths say they want him next season, too, even if he told them over the weekend that he'd struck a three-year deal with the Roosters from 2019.

The Roosters? They say they aren't expecting the 21-year-old back-rower until then – but would take him sooner if Souths were prepared to release him from the final year of his contract.

Whenever anyone in rugby league issues assurances, it often means the direct opposite so excuse us if our jaws don't hit the ground if Crichton packs up his bags and crosses Anzac Parade earlier than expected.

there hasnt been an official announcement but the club has clearly acknowledged he's signed. Clearly they want him early so they arent jumping the gun on the announcement.

          • It would be a huge bonus if we could get Angus early. All the haters would go ballistic.

            • apparently Angus Crichton is now dealing with an Achilles injury, may miss the start of the season.

I really hope the vermin don't run him into the ground this year, he has already had hip/finger surgery this offseason.

He’s had a lot of injuries in fact. Let’s hope it’s just a run of very bad luck.
