  • Is our club alergic to meter eating big boppers?

I thought I'd start a thread on this since many of us have the same opinion.

I'm assuming we all agree the team needs to improve 10 fold on it's go forward during games. For a few years now we've done nothing to address it.

But seriously, and don't say 'Collins', who is going to provide a step change in our meter eating department in 2018.

Cronk and Co. need time to produce their magic, So are we recruiting anybody at all to help us in this department. FFS buy a big name approaching his peak.

A few rumours going around, but that's all, rumours. Shyte man, enough already. JWH & NAPA will not give us enough of what we need.

I hope we're not relying on Fergo, Toups, and Teddy to get us meters all year.

They were pathetic in that prelim. But they had plenty of mates.

We have the players to do it, they just need to muscle up and get it done when it needs to be done, or get dropped . The game is moving on from massive units with the reduced interchange.

        We have much forward potential,

SST, Vunakissy, Liu, Tet , Materson will step up following a good off season

The boppers are on notice that's plain to see. Mobility will be the new strategy

Too simplistic blaming the forwards. That Cowboys game a good example. We had an impotent backline with two second rowers playing in the centres and were hardly a threat of spreading the ball and running around the opposition. That enabled the Cowboys to ambush our forwards with a compressed defense. Compounded by wasting a bench spot in warm playing conditions and the coach got exactly what he was asking for.

Imagine if JWH or Napa go down. We are screwed. We supposedly have money to spend so something must be brewing.

Not blaming JWH & NAPA for anything. Just saying we need more impact when they are rested. We were dominated in the middle by many teams last season. Our losses against Manly were the most obvious indicator that we lacked punch in the middle.

We are just waiting for a $1m plus prop or 2 to come onto the market......

Wonder if we can convince Sam Burgess and Jesse Bromwich to seek releases???

Thirteen, I hope so JWH is still coming off a ACL and Naps is still in a "moon boot" still time , but I hope we get another "Big Bopper" , we have a good pack but lack the bulk to plug the middle for 80 min.

I reckon with the stem cell surgery plus with a few gun players we have signed, JWH is primed for a big season. Whether he can return to the vintage 2013-2015 JWH remains to be seen? But, if he can get back to 90% of that then it will be a whole lot better than a lot of the shit (he did have some really great games since but inconsistent) he dished up in the last season and a half.

I am sure his knee has never been the same since the ACL. If this surgery/treatment works then he should be a whole lot better as I never doubt his comittment to the RWB unlike Napa.
