He most definitely isn’t ready yet. All the ability in the world. But in those Super high intensity moments requiring effort in effort, where the first man that blinks will cost his state the series, I wouldn’t want him - yet. But he’s still young and he’ll get there. Just really needs to work on his cardio and mental toughness.

Latrell could end up being 1 of those players that should have could have would have. Needs to get his head right and everything else will follow

Purely based on experience I don't think he's ready, I agree I think he needs to go up another level or two.

HOWEVER when you consider the alternatives I can see why people would pick him.

Jaryd Hayne - Played there this year but his defence was woeful and offered nothing in attack. Not the same player he was.
James Roberts - Just as susceptible to costing his team a game - Latrell gave him an absolute bath in our final.
Jarod Crocker - Meh, He's one of those players that people will always say shoudl've played Origin but never will because there's just nothing spectacular to his game.
Dylan Walker - Plays right side but has played on the left before, could be an option as I thought he had his best season ever last year but also susceptible to a brain fart.
Michael Jennings - Fell out of favour last year and maybe rightly so, turns 30 this year and has already started to lose some of his strike @ the Eels.

          Did I miss anyone?

          Who would you pick?

            He's ready for Origin. He's a weapon.

              Simple.

              Aubbo and Matto.

              What could go wrong?

I think Jack Bird is the obvious one, but he tends to play right side as well. Tom Trbojevic could be the one they move to centre. He played there for Australia and didn't look out of place although it wasn't a high intensity game by any means

Jack Bird is a standout and has Origin and Grand Final experience and if injured they have to find a spot for Turbo Tom.

im not bagging latrell here - but evidence suggests his attitude/hunger/desire are not top class , maybe a little like gi, lets be honest its clear as daylight hell never be the best trainer at any club he is at, he has all the ability and will play rep football in spite of his attitude , hurts to say but it is what it is.

Yeh there's surely no way they persist with Josh Dugan at right centre. Jack Bird must get that position.

If Tom Trbojevic is to get a position it'l be on the wing, you can't ask a player who barely makes 5 tackles a game at NRL level to go up a level to SOO and make 20-30. It requires a different level of fitness and a different level of body mass that Tom just doesn't have on him. He may get a spot on the wing but I just don't see him getting a shot in the centres.

Didn’t you see what opposition players can do to him in our recent semi?
