Cordner and JWH easy hit the 20 mark and much more when the opposition would’ve been taking notice of body language.

      Secondly, I know it’s only one game but from the footage Guerra didn’t have his hands on his hips at any point when the ball was actually in play. Mainly looked stuffed before drop outs, hunched over hands on thighs a couple of times in his second stint. His longest rest taking a breather was just after a drop out where he seemed to get pretty winded from a heavy tackle that caused the Titans player to lose the ball.

      Lastly, the amount of off-ball work he did, particularly in his first 28 minute stint was very impressive. He ran more support than any other forward on the field by far. And his kick pressure was quality. Surprisingly his reactions and work ethic in terms of kick chase or cover defence were great, which I wouldn’t have picked at all.

      In conclusion, I think there’s two possible explanations to why we all perceive him as being a bit unfit. One, he is actually unfit and he’s just all heart and works his arse off, and hence looks wrecked. Or two, he’s just got what appears to be a very uneconomical lumbering running style which gives the perception that he’s tired compared to other players that are more natural runners.

      So maybe there’s something in this article and he’s not just the best of a bad bunch. Hopefully someone out there found that half interesting. Shit we played well in that first half haha was definitely worth the watch again. Got some work ideas from it as well!! How good is footy! Up the Chooks!

        Also made me chuckle.

        But Guerra was decent last year, left the club on a high. And if he’ becomes a real leader at a struggling club then good on him.

            I like Guerra.He may have had his bad moments but there are many good ones too. He kept his nose clean away from any off field controversy and he always had a smile. I think it's unfortunate that many are making out like he's one of a few responsible for whats happened since. There are another 16 players & coaching staff that need to be questioned about why we haven't won since. Some are still in the team. He was never going to be the go to guy in the team. Just remember that try in the GF and that's how we should remember him AND if he has a blinder against us, well at least we know he didn't got there because he wanted to leave us. Thanks Che!

He was a dead set flog and IMO if I were an opposition fan I woulda been livid if I’d seen him bust out of a tackle with that stupid spin. It was like WTF... no WTF!!! Just take the tackle, you’re gonna knock-on!!! Oh shyte, how did he do that?!?!? Try!!! OMG, WTF just happened?!?!?

              Since then he played for Australia and QLD (somehow got Kangaroos selection over Cords), played like a flog and got demoted. DEAD SET!!! I’d be livid if I were at the Knights and got yelled at by him.

              Although to be fair, the Knights are absolute shye. If you’ve got Aidos calling you a lazy fark then you know you’ve gotta pull your finger out.

                About time you came out retirement Yak. Straight onto the Chooks coaching staff. We need a prop coach, you're it. Tell em stories on 2002.

                Stats like that are telling. Though I'm sure Rooster6 has some to prove you wrong. Good work

                  I respect Yaks deep thought and insights into the game.

                  i also feel I have sufficient intelligence and experience watching the roosters to form a point of view.

                  with the exception of Watson who I feel will be a star elsewhere, we let the right players go. I include Gordon because I feel the club repaid his loyalty and passion. This equates to me believing Robbo could see what was blatantly obvious to me and others on the sideline. We have retained and recruited well (still in progress) and exited the right players imho

                    In saying that and I agree with what you say as far as team accountability is concerned but he has to be held accountable for his own fitness/play, how many times in the last couple of years have we on this forum blasted him for being a ball hog and not passing to his outside players trying for that HERO play only for him to fail spectacuarly.. How many times after 10 mins on the field he looked gassed and in need of oxygen therapy with his hands on his hips sucking in the big ones. As much as he bought to the team in his earlier years the quality fell steeply in the last few..

                      Guerra, thanks for the 2013 GF try mate. I'll always have a soft spot for any former roosters player that won a comp with us (except for that flop Justin Hodges).

                      But in saying that he had to go. Overpaid and underperformed for most of his time at Easts. If QLD weren't winning he probably would have lost his SOO spot sooner.

                      And in hindsight it seems he was let go so that Angus can come in at take his spot.... another brilliant move by Uncle Nick!

                          Well look at it this way and in a way I can see Guerras way. I'm generally fit and play team sports in my middle age. I look fit over my other team mates...the other guys look so fat. I only have to make one sprint and I look bugged. People ask me if I'm OK and yeah I can still go on but I look like I've done a marathon, so to speak. I can still muster the strength to complete the game..I think Guerra is the same. He only has to do a abit of work and he appears bugged yet he remains on the field. If he wasn't able to cope I'm sure Robbo would have hooked him. As for the hogging the ball and passing issues...I think Cordner has a serious problem with passing. How many tries did he bomb or nearly bomb a try because he can't make that last pass. Guerras strength was his defensive work and at his best he was good for a few tries a year.

                              Stats are like a bikini. What they reveal is interesting, what they hide is vital. Take for example a props mtrs gained. What that stat doesnt reveal is how hard those runs where. Coming out of our own end under the pump when needed or taking a easy run of the back of someone else's hard work

                                Anyway he is gone so not our concern. Good luck to him. It used to piss me off to no end that body language and give me the impression he was unfit, lazy and unmotivated but then i thought of paying more attention to him and what he does outside of those moments in the game where he appears like this and i noticed the effort was there, not just with the ball on in defence but off the ball as well so i in my own mind cut him some slack last year as i found it was more a perception/image thing than a reality.
