Matty does make some valid points but at the same time i remember 2013 he kept predicting we would fall short to the vermin and seagulls hell he even thought newcastle would beat us in the finals but we conquered all and won in the end.

Bs dont underestimate the cronk effect plus cords is the best backrower in the game, we have strike out wide plus our front row are more then capable they just need to re ignite the fire inside . We can certainly win the comp make no mistake about it. Cronk has plenty to prove now he has stepped out of smiths shadow and something tells me he has come to the chooks to challenge himself outside of the storm and qld bubble.

Depends on a few factors in my opinion

1/ We need alot more from Napa ala that South's game
2/ Jared of old (Pre Knee) need's to make a comeback
3/ If Collins and Faamausili have break out years
4/ Our 3/4 defensive liabilities need to be sorted pronto and Robbo has had ALL off season to work on it.

No need to worry about Cronk combo's as they won't take long at all, if at all that is and it's just plain stupid we don't have a specialist goal kicker, we had a decent one and let him go, Bloody stupid imo.

On the plus side we have the most potent set of backs in the comp.

The hard thing, especially for the Roosters is to get into the Grand Final in the first place. We haven't been very successful at that in recent years.

For mine, The Cows deserve to be favourites followed by Storm then us....

The lack of belief from you knobs is amazing. Have a look at our squad, it's full of class. Get on!

What you're also missing is the constant jabs that Matty and Joey throw at each other via the media, promoting their own causes (remember they were taught at the same schools: Nine & Cessnock). It's a part of their repartee

If I was a betting man, I'd put $5 on Blues into Chooks.

Seriously, has Mat Johns ever said or written anything positive about our team or club? He even wrote us off in 2013. The guy is a bitter fwit who can't get over our win in the 2000 prelim. He's also pissed off that we stopped his 2002 Sharks team from winnng the premiership, after us the sharks were probably the next best team that year. Anyone who listens to this bloke on mmm will know that he hates us with a passion. We could have the QLD origin team playing for us and he'd still write us off.

It is not a lack of belief, but not having an established goal kicker, dodgy outside backs in defence and not the best front row prop rotation is weighing on my mind.

Plus the fact the comp apart from the Storm wasn really that strong last year, however, this year there are at least on paper 4 or 5 very strong looking squads.
Our fowards turn up every week and we play for 80 mins in most games we should be there for the big dance but how many times did we play for 80 last year? Maybe twice.....

“It doesn’t matter how good your creatives are, if you can’t dominate the middle third of the football field then forget about it" - exactly. Hopefully if it's true they're after Frank-Paul Nu'uausala, that would help.

                          ^^^This.

im on board and have faith we can win. I believe we can so we will. Simple as that.

Right, and he has seen our spine play late in the 2018 season?

IMO it is all speculation. We have 26 rounds to gel before the finals. Also, other teams (e.g. Broncos without Milford, Storm without Cronk...etc) will also have to find their mojo.

I agree with his sentiment. However, it is a long time between now and the finals (which I would be disappointed if we didn’t make). It is way to early to call it.

Matt Johns loses all credibility when he suggests Newcastle can and will make the 8 because They have Signed Pearce, who is a match winner, clutch player and someone knows how to win close games, Pearce is a lot of things but FFS none of the above, I’ll take his and Sterlings opinions with a grain of salt

And we finished the regular season in second to the dominant team and eventual premier; of which we now have the halfback from that side in ours. I'm believing.

We started the season well last year and if we can do that again, especially with the draw we have been given, there is every chance we can finish high in the order.

My my fear is our big game mentality. It's the art of coaching Trent hasn't quite mastered. Maybe this year?? Please..
