I heard he was seeing some Drs or specialists about his persistent headaches.

If it is just one week maybe start Radley at 5/8 with Cornish on the bench. I heard Cornish got mauled a bit in defence by Manly.
one small issue with VR at 5/8 is that he has never played that position- Matto is the best option if as expected Keary is out and in reference to Cornish's defence issues and lack of ball running ( he is a 7 basically) - be a rugged and physical game I expect against the rebuilt Tigers - 4 forwards on the bench a must too and no wingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matto at 5/8, I cant see that happening. He is 1 kilo lighter than JWH & I dont think he has the spark nor the agility to play 5/8. I think he will be lucky to be in the 17.

100% will be in the 17 all year if he stays healthy.

VR played a bit of 5/8 in the 18s and 20s in recent years, maybe not in the top grade but apart from a couple of games neither has Matto.

I agree Rads is primarily a backrower but he would be a better option than Matto imo if Keary is out just for a week or two as Rads is a natural footballer and can defend far better than Cornish or any of the young up and comers.

I just think Matto is just too slow to play at pivot now.......

Unless he shows some aggression I reckon blokes like Butcher, Collins or Chris Smith will get picked before him.
Last year at the end of the games he looked immaculate. He didnt even have a hair out of place.

I agree that VR isn't your typical specialist player. He looks like a footballer who could handle different positions. If his kid is not too complex- I think he might be an excellent choice

apparently started training again on the weekend, will be named to play but the decision on whether he does won't be made till Saturday.

Matto's 5/8 skills havent just disappeared because he's bulked up.

If Robbo puts him there, i think he will still do a solid job

He'll just be a little slower.

He'll also probably be the biggest 5/8th to lace on a boot for 1st grade.

Interestingly, he remains named as 5/8 on the official site

I'm sure that I read that Mitch Cornish will get the gig if Keary is rested for another week, don't know where all the Matterson talk at 6 has sprung from
