Maloney's level headed attitude was also sorely missing in our finals campaign in 2017.

I would say our premiership window has now closed for a few years as our forward pack is looking tired and will have a heavy turn over for the next 2-3 seasons, although Politis is trying to throw a Cronk-shaped rock through it (similar to what we did in 2010 with Carney, albeit with Cronk being a much less of a gamble than Toddy)
Don't forget we had no JWH or Cordner for the first 6 or 7 rounds as well

Kouparitsis, Goulding, Dart...where was Cam Cherry in that lot? Yes they were losses....but not ours. We really lost it when we let Brian Bevan go to Warrington!!!

700 plus tries later...sheez...we wouldn't have even needed a goalkicker! Do you realise Bevan actually got his mug on a British stamp and they actually built statues of him at roundabouts. Ends up being picked in the NRL's Australian team of the century. So much for Brian Bevan.

The same year - 46 - we let Lionel Cooper go to Huddersfield and he scored ten tries in one game and also went on to become a legend with over 300 tries. And then there was Johnny Hunter who killed them over there and played for 'Other Nationalities' What a back three.

I don't know who we had on the retention committee in 1946. Probably General Custer.

Last years roster was a lot bigger than I thought?

Surprised no one brought up Vautin.
He had another 5 or 6 seasons in him perhaps.

But if we're talking the past few decades, who else but Maloney!

                                - O’reillys catholic team mate Jack Fingleton played for Waverley Cricket Club in the Bradman era.
