Personally, I think one of the problems is the bloke that wears number 6 and has the "C" next to his name. Now he is overrated.
I don't think the scoreline did us justice but we weren't good enough to beat them.

I think that if we played with the same heart and determination we did tonight, and then worked on discipline we could beat rabbits, raiders, eels, sharks, even manly.
If you take away a few penalties, dropped balls, bad passes we would have won tonight i believe.
To prove this
Tuigimalas 2 dropped balls: 2 tries
Pearces pass to Jones which he knocks on, Williams runs the field and scores a try
Fitzgibbons knockon late in the 2nd half, one try (coupled with tanseys shitty play of the ball)
Not to mention countless unnecessary penalties which let off pressure and gave Manly field position.
All of these things are not massive problems, they are just fundamentals which (IMO) are easily fixed.

We CANT do the basics, because we dont know HOW TO and WE DONT LEARN.
Yet you make teh stupid comment that we can easily fix that? Its taken 12 rounds and we havent fixed it. Have you been watching anything. Sorry about the abuse, but I cant tolerate mediocrity loving twats.Alcohol never solved any life problems.....then again neither did milk.

the strong points in this team are our halves
and to a lesser extent our props
the real issue is our back rowers they are not mobile enough and they leave massive gaps in the middle of the field.
maybe a solution would be to bring james aubuson to the lock position hes defence and mobility is exceptional. and i think jake friend will develop into a nice dummy half.
mason unfortnately has been a bust and needs to go to free up salary cap room to bring in a gun second rower.
The other issue is we need a gun center and fullback we are struggling outwide. Sa will develop into a solid center but we need a gun center to compliment him.
so while most think the solution is drastic it might require minor changes to get us back on track.

This is what gus thought of the game
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
After a shaky start, the Roosters delivered a far more committed performance. The Roosters went back to basics in search of credibility and seemed far more comfortable with this simple style of play.
Manly were hot favourites and, if complacency was to be a problem, the first 10 minutes didn't help their mental toughness. They made easy ground with every carry and scored a soft try under the posts with their first visit to the Roosters' end of the field. I reckon the ease of this opening period softened them up a little.
The Roosters shocked them when they quickly fought their way back into the physical side of the contest. If anything, this caused some mild panic in the home team's demeanour and they struggled to put good passages of play together.
Manly kept threatening to open up a break on the scoreboard but the Roosters kept fighting back.
The game was in the balance with 12 minutes to play but, thanks to a glut of possession in the final stages, the Sea Eagles finally asserted their superiority.
ROOSTERS ATTACK
The Roosters placed great importance on completing sets of six and ending each with good kicks. This took a lot of the errors out of their game that have plagued them during the first half of the season. It also placed less pressure on their defence because they played more of the game at the Manly end of the field. It's funny how simple is often better.
Braith Anasta was the catalyst for all the Roosters' more expansive attacking raids. If he is not the best five-eighth in NSW, I'm an astronaut. He picked his time to set the outside men alight and had Manly stretched several times. For the first time in a long time the Roosters actually manufactured a couple of good tries and were unlucky not to score a couple more.
MANLY ATTACK
They try to play quickly but this often results in them just rushing their play. It's all too frantic for mine. It leads to unforced errors and missed opportunities.
I also think their playmakers run across field too much. This cuts down the spaces on the outside, restricting opportunities for their outside backs to get clear running. It also means they are continually forced to turn the ball inside. This won't trouble the better defensive teams. Another problem with cross-field running is that it forces half Matt Orford to resort to unplanned grubber kicks because he doesn't engage the defenders; he gets himself crowded and then has to rush a kick to avoid running behind teammates.
ROOSTERS DEFENCE
The effort, the hitting and the desperation were much better. However, the Roosters defence is plagued by three main areas. 1. Discipline - they concede too many soft penalties. 2. They can't handle dummy-half running from their opponents. 3. Their wingers are very suspect under the high ball - it costs them every week.
THE VERDICT
Competitive game. Manly deserved the win and if they tidy up a couple of things they can fight their way back into top-eight calculations. The Roosters were much improved but still have a long way to go.

To all those hanging shit on our halves/hooker:
Are you serious with this or do you just like to get on the bandwagon with other band-aid supporters ?
They are never going to be effective, playing behind a beaten forward pack every week. Playing behind the slowest play of the ball every week. 75% of our possession is coming out of our own half for god's sake. What would you like them to do ? Take a hit up instead of the forwards ? Spread the ball laterally and start going sideways ? Please.
Pearce was inches away from 2 40/20s and Friend would of got one had it not been for Robertson's brilliance.
How come SKD doesn't get criticised for giving away the dumbest penalty of the game ? Or getting palmed off like a school girl by a player which he is much bigger than who ended up streaking away 90m ?
Or Jordan Tansey who can't make a tackle to save his life or do the most basic thing in playing the ball.
People were so quick to praise Pearce and Anasta when our forwards were playing well last year yet are so quick to jump on their throats when we are losing.
A quick congrats to Jake Friend, who deadset was the heart of our defence last night. Made 40+ tackles, played with a lot of grit. Ran out of dummy-half every limited opportunity given to him. Roosters really need to stick by this little bloke.
