  • A disgrace of a club

I felt sick leaving Brookvale on Sunday.

We are a club like no other.

An utter embarrassment on the field, the most clueless attacking team seen in years, and right in contention for another spoon.

Come Monday morning, the fans congregate around their keyboards like drug addicts desperate to know the name of the next rumoured signing. Who will save us? Someone from England perhaps? Ryan Cross or Wing coming back? Some Toyota Cup guy from NZ? Dugan for 2016? Give us another shot Nick, we need one.

What we are witnessing now is a club that has no soul.

With a squad that consists of a few high-priced yet perenially underperforming inside backs, laughably bad outside backs that are barely up to NSW cup level, the worst forward pack in the comp, and the remainder of the roster made up of un-proven backrowers and salary cap squeeze-outs from other clubs, we are the quintessential example of what happens when you have a club with no culture that develops no-one.

Our long and proud history as a foundation club is being systematically destroyed by the chairman.

Melbourne won some comps Nick, they seem to go well, what should we do? Buy their recruitment guy? Ok, that should fix things

In order to build a culture, you need to have guys who really want to play at the club. Do you really think that deep down Carney has any real attachment to the Roosters? He's a childish brat who'll sell his wares to the highest bidder. Sure, we love him when he plays well, but when things aren't going well, that's when you find out about guys like him. And results like we're getting are what happen when you have buying established players at the core of your roster management policy.

There used to be a question in the RLW players poll along the lines of "Which club would you least like to play for?" Guess who won that every year

If you want to build a culture you can't have mercenaries and you can't have spastics like Anasta getting paid squillions for doing fark all. 2010 was a fluke in a weak year

What will happen at the end of this season? Sack another coach? Buy another batch of ageing salary cap squeezeouts and a high priced mercenary or 2?

    Definitely the latter, probably both

    woo hoo

Loyalty means everything to me but when your spouse keeps smashing you in the face then you've got to think about leaving.

How can anyone take seriously a side with the games most overrated players player at the helm.

Ha. What rubbish so many contradictions it's not funny.

The most clueless attacking side seen in years? They did ok averaging 30 points a year last season.

Why are we club with no soul? Because a few fans want a new signing everyday?

Who are the big names we have actually bought the last 2-3 years?

Compare us to Souths, Dogs or Parra who every year seem to buy 2-3 big names.

It's funny they never seem to get the bad wrap we do. When they sign a good player it's a great coup when we do we are bringing in another mercenary.

            Also who are the squeezeouts?

Look at our sqaud so many of them have debuted at Easts or have come through our 20's.

Mini, Perrett, SKD, BJ, Pearce, Friend, Kennedy, Aubbo, Symonds, Cordner and Masoe are all players who have debuted for us or come through the 20's. Not bad for a club who "develops nobody".

So I can't see how we are "buying established players at the core of your roster management policy". Would you call Tangive and Bosden "established players"?

Also the usual Politis bashing is pretty silly considering we have made 5 GF's in 11 years.

Mate just do us a favour and stop pretending you an Easts fan.

Mate that was 4-5 years ago.

Seriously who are the big names we have bought the last 2-3 years?

We have tried to back our young kids and some people are still not happy.

                      oh and myles.
So we currently have Myle, Ryles and Banasta in the scrum. Myles is over easts and easts are punting him. Ryles was the biggest joke at the merge bf he took easy coin in the uk. Anasta is the games biggest mercenary.
no soul. Mason and Omelley loved sucking coin and soul from easts

On ESPN, they run a series called 30 for 30.

They are 30 Docos that run over a wide range of sports that tell of stories of success and struggle. they show every Thursday, 8pm.

The Doco this week was something close to my heart. Apart from the Roosters, there are only 2 other teams i follow passionatly, Liverpool FC and The New York Yankees.

This weeks 30 for 30 is called "The house of Steinbrener" and it is about George Steinbrener and his ownership/running of the Yankees.

It is an example of the standing that one man had hin the club and the main driving force in the desicions that were made.....The Fans.

The Respect that the players Hold for that club and for george while he was alive is second to none. it is a culture that needs to be mimicked and fostered because the way the roosters are going about it now.......

To love Easts is to hate Souffs
