I reckon getting that slug Cornish out of the team, along with the wake up call last week, and a home game will make for a mighty Chooks performance.

    Go Easts!

Nope, I've read a lot of comparisons between Saturday's performance and our performances of last year (especially the Cows final) but I think that's just lazy analysis trying to draw some parallels between some of the generalised outcomes that you see in poor performances rather than really having anything to do with the way we tried to play or set up.

I think there has been drastic changes in personnel and less so but still evident in our structure. For better or worse, time will tell but we need to give it more than 1 game.

        R6,

I must be dense a the moment (jetlag). Your last post didn't make any sense to me. It could use some breaking down - if you can be bothered,.

You'd think we'd lost by plenty last week. We lost by 2 points. Yes, it was a frustrating performance but defensively we were pretty sound. We need the combos to gell and that will take time. It was always going to be the case. You need to remember that some of the guys at our club have spent their entire Roosters career with M Pearce at halfback, and their is no doubt that Storm Boy plays a different style. No surprise we were clunky in attack, with a new 7, a new 1 and a stand in 6 who just didn't suit the role he was meant to play.

The TigPies got lucky when the Grub was injured and Benji got a spot in the run on side. Benji did a far better job of controlling the game than the Grub would have done, and made L Brooks job much easier. I reckon we win if the Grub plays - he's always worth a brain snap or two.

And for all the criticism of our forward pack, the fact is that it still took 78 minutes for the Tigers to score a try.

I'll judge our team on where they finish at the end of the season, not round 1. Geez, people forget the TigPies won 2 out of 3 of their first games last year. And where did they finish again??
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

It’s almost like one player wasn’t our problem

Tigers had plenty of new players too- Roosters had 2 and one would have thought through the pre-season combos would have been worked on at training and during trial games including any replacements required as a result of injuries etc and not use the excuse oh it will take time to gel. Robbo's game plan was a Barry Crocker and played right into the Tigers hands as the Roosters threw nothing at them in attack - Cornish is a 7 not a 6 so why play him there - should have played Matto at 6- To have a game plan based on 5 hit ups and kick is not going to win you games no matter which team they play.

Being Kept to zero in the first half said it all - needed to change the game plan at oranges - it just continued on in the second half - didn't work first half why continue with it- Robbo really is getting to the end of his use by date.- next 5 or so weeks will tell I suggest - the easy draw is not so easy one has to say.
