Bookies don't read the chook pen lol

With the current chook pen meltdown, some on here have us easily missing the 8 and battling for the spoon..

wouldn't it be great to have a team that played with the commitment of St George, the Tigers or Auckland so far have this year. The no name Tigers make our mob look like over paid over rated wannabes. Their commitment in defence, and attack make us look pedestrian. Auckland out enthused us, they showed that reputations mean nothing, they picked where to attack and attacked strongly and persistently, they ran HARDER than any of our so called superstars, they blotted out Cronk and frustrated him. the only way we win games is through some individual brilliance and I am so sick of it. We are show ponies. No staying power, if things get tough we get going.... backwards. I loved watching our no name team of battlers back in 1967 more than I enjoy the stuff our so called Glamour side dishes up these days. We just look like we have no plan B, and not much of a plan A. I've followed the chooks for over 50 years through good and bad, all I want to see is effort, teamwork, determination, and some guts. If the players give me that and I can see that the coaches have given them a plan to work to and got them fit and maximised their skill levels then I don't care if they win or lose, but obviously if those things happened they would win more than they lost and make a contest of most games. We are favourites because we have a great roster, a great draw and a supposedly knowledgeable coach, but without some heart, guts, determination and skill we could easily miss the top 4 and no way win the GF. I wouldn't back us with your money. I'm not saying it can't change, certainly it can, but something isn't working and it's up to our fearless leader Trent to do something about it, I criticised him in another thread for not showing enough passion, if that's they way the top man acts what do we expect the players to do?

Storm and Cowgirls aren't going much better so the odds are fair enough.

I am not so sure about the $1.67 to win at Shark Park.

No need to panic it's only April ! The best teams will be peaking in september when it matters and we'll be amongst them . But FFS just focus on the simple things fellas , like catching the ball and passing behind the rest will come . We need to mould into a champion team and not a team of champions. GO THE ROOSTERS

sorry i didnt read the full post but the fact we have been consistantly one of the best teams since 2000 and won 2 premierships and multiple minor premierships id say we arnt going to bad... comparing us to the dragons after 4 rounds when we have overall been a much more successful club just comes off as odd to me... sorry.

We are the only team in the comp that can get ~30% completions in the first half and only be 2 tries behind. Frustrating I know, but we are close to clicking and will be very difficult to stop once we do.

Rd 3 Brookvale Oval 1980, we'd just been flogged 34 to 7, our 3rd consecutive loss and 2nd last on the table. I remember walking out of Brookvale that day thinking a wooden spoon was a huge possibility, any talk of a finals finish was laughable. Fast forward to rd22 and I'm leaving Leichhardt oval after a 15-10 win, happy in the knowledge that we had just secured the minor premiership. Anyone suggesting that we are a spent force are kidding themselves.

Bookies had us at practically evens against a $4+ Warriors.

What are the odds of us winning second halves, please bookies.

gees I am as young as you - the last game vs Balmain was Bernie Gurr's first first grade game too - only played one more- the Major Semi vs Dogs- Never mind though as we have more of a chance making the 8 than the Aussie men's cricket side has of winning a test series one has to honestly say - no Smith/Warner who will score runs?? - Maybe recall Bob Simpson like the old WSC days

2-36 - have to make 613 to win - be interesting if the side loses big test after test- what the reaction of the public will be then - surely wont be wanting to see that again and again - be like the bad old days when anyone that could hold a bat or bowl a ball could be selected.
