Interesting reading that the senior playing group is going to have significant input into whatever the "Carney Decision" is. Anasta obviously has a major influence within this senior playing group. Anasta may make the vote that Carney goes and therefore he gets his beloved number 6 jersey back. There aren't any decent 5/8s on the market, so if Carney is dumped, I think Anasta at 5/8 is the most likely outcome. Oh joy.

Except that with other clubs closing the door on him and being deregisterd still an option, a vigorous defence might mean he is fighting just to save his pay packet, as opposed to showing he has any desire to be playing at the Roosters.

Based on his actions, not the bullshit statements that are written for him to read out, he doesn't want to be here.

I agree. The way he has conducted himself since Monday night shows an attitude of "I really don't give a fark" imo. He has shown no contrition what so ever or a semblence of remorse.

He needs to be sacked AND de-registered for the remainder of his contract with us - 2 years. Fark him.

Anasta didn't get on the drink in full public view when the team was on a dry. Anasta also hasn't spent the season trudging around the field like he would rather be somewhere else.

This suggestion that Anasta will push for Carney to be sacked so he can play in the 6 is just silly.

Whether Anasta is good, bad or indifferent he will offer us far more this weekend that Carney has offered us at any stage this year.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not defending Carney in any way. If the players are sick of his crap and don't want to play with him then I think he should be dumped. Just highlighting that the most likely outcome of all of this will be Anasta at 5/8 for the rest of this year and next.

The rot in this club has finally come to breaking point.

I thought 2009 was our low point - maybe not.

We now have a choice: keep the shit, and hope for success next year, if Carney feels like turning up, or get rid of the shit... and put Braith at five-eighth.

The latter will consign us to mediocrity, because Anasta is hopeless. The former will most likely do the same, barring a 2010 miracle.

This is a lose/lose for the club. Next year will be awful, and that is almost certain. But they have to look to 2013. Which may very well mean getting rid of Carney, and tolerating Captain Fantastic in the six for one more annus horribilis (no, sodomite, not talking about you).
